I think getting into bed with DUP is going to stick in the craw with a great deal of people (myself included) especially coming from someone who claimed 'no deal is better than a bad deal' - fine, but it seems ironic that she'll team up with anyone who can make any deal, just to crawl over the finish line.

How could she be so stupid? Did she think we the 48% had disappeared..

Last the year the young had a shock so they made sure they turned up this time compounding her problems.

I am starting to believe Brexit can actually be stopped now if things become more and more disastrous.

Boris to take us into Brexit negotiations..are you kidding me?

That ship has already sailed. Brexit is happening, all that has changed is how it goes down. The empty no deal rhetoric has now been blown out of the water as the bedfellows May has chosen have some specifics they want out of the deal such as single market.

Good: British politics won't be able to ignore Northern Ireland any longer, possible soft Brexit.
Bad: The Conservatives are getting into bed with openly homophobic, anti-abortion, creationist religious nutters.

DUP 2017 manifesto key points
  • Restore a working Assembly and Executive
  • Support continued increases in the National Living Wage
  • Support proposals to further increase the personal tax allowance
  • Support the maintenance of the pensions triple lock
  • Resist any assault on universal benefits
  • Support the continuation of the UK’s independent nuclear deterrent
  • Work to get the best Brexit deal for Northern Ireland
Doesn't sound too bad.

We have Brexit negotiations coming up. I'd just be happy we have a majority government, no matter how small a majority. It would have been a total disaster going into negotiations with a hung parliament and a minority, or even worse delay them all together and create all sorts of instability
She already had all that. She didn't need to call an election. She's an idiot.

you do know that the best Brexit deal for NI is single market access which is incompatible with May's brexit dream right ?

I don't think it's the doom and gloom the media are making out for the Conservatives so long as the DUP play ball, they don't have an overall majority but they do have a majority of the vote so remainers can no longer claim that May doesn't have a mandate for Brexit so they can shut about having another referendum on the terms of Brexit and it's put Sturgeon in her place over Scottish independence. Not to mention Brexit won't be sabotaged in 2 years if she had lost a later election which was quite possible after 2 years of the EU sabotaging negotiations.

The establishment are trying hard to get her to resign because she's the only one willing to fulfill the will of the British people on Brexit.

I think she might U turn on that though. But fundamentally if they can get DUP support in return for some reasonable concessions, the country might actually have a chance rather than descend into a constant cycle of elections.
