I am making another thread, because it is important you the gamer truly understands the true hotness of this deal, not only is the price totally killer for a premium brand GTX 1060 6Gb, but because NVIDIA and Asus are running game promotions your also bagging £60 worth of games too, that means your getting a top specification GTX 1060 for like £175.00, which for a 6Gb card from Asus really is a steal.

This looks like a very tempting deal after my card died. Would it still be worth it despite having got a freesync monitor?

Problem is right now, there are no RX 580 available, if 580 was in free supply then it would be the better choice but as they are not, the 1060 is a great option, its only flaw being lack of freesync support.
 
Any idea on when the 580's might be in stock? Not sure I can wait if it will be a while. The missus would probably be fine if I change later anyway.

I have a Freesync monitor but bought one of these to use until Vega appears after selling my Fury and so far I haven't missed Freesync, Admittedly it's only been a few day and a few games but it's been fine so far which is great as I was a bit worried about missing Freesync.

Stock arrives daily but it is all pre-sold and they are pretty much now all £300 plus due to lack of supply, as such at this pricing the 1060 is the better buy.
 
Oh go on then, you've tempted me :) Picked one up for my wife's PC for light gaming and I'll give it try out with some mining as well.

Rumours are NVIDIA are releasing a revised driver to improve mining hash rate on 1060 to try and bring it upto RX 480 levels, if they achieve that 1060 stocks will be wiped out overnight, LOL. :D

Could probably sell your 290 on the bay to miners and buy this 1060 and still be in profit.

But in terms of actual performance its probably negligible, though I imagine the 1060 will just edge it.
 
I ordered one this morning. Can't wait for it to arrive tomorrow.

Upgrading from a gtx460; hopefully notice some improvement!
