I should have clarified single gpu card :p

since you seem to know about mining.

my current main rig has a 1080ti in it.

if I was to remove the titan Xp in my other rig, and place it in the second pcie slot of my current rig.

could I leave that gpu mining whilst gaming on the 1080ti?

would it need an sli bridge?

how easy is it to setup?

PcPer have their Frontier Edition. Let the fun begin!

I literally have no idea. There probably are settings in the miners to enable/disable mining on specific cards, but it's not something I've had to touch. And no, you don't need a bridge.

If this turns out to be true, it is a real shame they've had a flop CPU release and what looks like the possibility of a flop GPU release?

I still don't think it's likely. There's almost certainly something wrong with the results that have been shown so far for Vega frontier edition performance. They seem to suggest that it's just an overclocked Fury X or the card has worse IPC than Fiji which is highly unlikely. If it was that bad, it would not have been released. Even Fermi had a sizeable increase in performance over its predecessor and people consider that to be an architecture which Nvidia flopped with.

I think either there is zero gaming optimisation in their drivers or they are optimising for stability over speed, since it's a prosumer card. Or even just AMD wanted to rush out the hardware so they released some placeholder drivers until they can get some decent stuff together. The actual architecture being the same IPC or worse than Fiji makes zero sense, especially for a 300W TDP card on 14nm.

Go back and read what you posted, bulldozer is ancient news, the way you posted it was like you were implying ryzen was a flop :p

No, that was how the interpreted it. Bulldozer still happened regardless whether it was ancient news or not.

Does kinda read as though you meant the recent release...

Guys, maybe you should re-read the posts

Who cares about advertising.

AMD advertised bulldozer as if it was good :p

It's not ambiguous, he's clearly talking about Bulldozer ;)
