What is the incentive (out of interest) to buy a card that will have 1080 performance but a lot more power draw/heat/noise for a price that's going to be at best very similar and quite possibly worse given the current mining 'situation'.

For me it's because I have a Freesync monitor and don't feel like buying a new one plus a ~25% premium for G-Sync on top of a new card.

Well looks Good enough for me to fork out 450 for it if thats the real score :) Thats descent jump frommmy overclocked 980ti that i plan to sell for 200-220.

If it comes at that price I'll be happy too. I've a5gb 1060 at the moment that's only a month old so I'll be able to get anywhere from 170-200 for that hopefully so adding upto another 3-350 will be bareable.

The fastest results are maybe with more recent drivers. Also 30 mhz isn't overclock compared to 1080 which is running on 2ghz core in comparison lol

It all depends on what cooler is being used. If it's a similar blower like FE; expect to run at max fan speed to get 1630.

If the reference top RX comes with a AIO water setup like the Fury X it should be at 1600mhz at a minimum which will really help.

Just hope if there's a water RX Vega it's jot limited to that mentally priced £1500 Frontier Edition.

Regarding the price estimates being given - are they for the Fury X equivalent water cooled RX or is it the lower clocked air cooled Fury equivalent?

As someone already posted some of us have Freesync monitors. Contrary to what many might think that, does not imply I backed a loser in a one horse race :)

When I got my 4K 32" Freesync IPS monitor there were no G-Sync equivalent and when one did come out it was £250 more expensive for a similar spec. Power draw has not been a problem for me for a very long time and the truth is, it's only a metric used by Nvidia fans because Nvidia are currently better at it than AMD.

I have been expecting between 1080 - 1080Ti performance since this time last year and those expectations seem accurate so far. The FE results are not a disappointment for me, I expect RX gamer Vega to be ~15% faster overall and anything else is a bonus.

Just saying that 3DMark 11 with the CPU in the link is massively CPU limited so that score tells nothing about the Vega performance.

I mean the prices being banded around are speculation

Err yeah, I think most people realise that as it hasn't been launched yet.

plus AMD are known to state TDP as an absolute maximum rather than how much it will use through standard use.
What I am meaning is that the <300W FE has been exceeding 300W at times in testing.

So why did you ask about the price estimates being given? How could anyone know what they are for being that they're speculation?

The power usage however, hopefully it can be reigned in a little with optimisations.

Honestly, while the mining craze continues I have no intention of buying a GPU. I'm not paying 200£ over the odds (on an already milked RRP) it's just madness. I'm sure AMD and Nvidia don't care, a sale is a sale to them. But for me, it's a deal breaker. I was looking to upgrade soon but at this rate Sony or Microsoft can take my money for computer gaming. It's just the way of it.

I was asking the people giving the estimates to clarify which card they were pricing as I can't see the best RX AIO being less than £500 unless the performance is particularly poor but obviously the RX(s) lower down the range will be cheaper.

Pure speculation or price, I think around the same as the 1080. £450-550 depending on cooler. As much as I would love AMD to shake it up with a low price, AMD pulled the same as Nvidia with Polaris (pushing everything up a price bracket), don't see why it would change with Vega.
