I find only having 4 sata ports on my current mini-ITX system a real pain - even my old Shuttle system could probably take 4 3.5" SATA drives, and with the smaller 2.5" and mSATA drives, its increasingly the motherboards which are the limitation not the space in the case.

must have a fair sized case for it to take 4 x 3.5 drives?

The Shuttle was tiny - it even had a small duffle bag for it. It used a very compact PSU and the Shuttle form factor motherboard. My current mini-ITX system is probably the largest box I had for years but is easily much smaller than say a Prodigy and it can take three 3.5" SATA drives and a 2.5" one.

But the issue is now 2.5" drives and SDDs are more common,I could easily have 7 drives in this system and even the NCASE M1 can also take a load of drives and is smaller AFAIK. The Dan Case A4-SFX which is probably one of the smallest cases which can take a full sized card can take 3 2.5" drives.

this probably shows that AVFS is not working on Vega FE at the moment, but Buildzoid found that core voltage is not scaling with frequency at the moment.

Now I found the perfect setup for pairing with a new nano Vega if they ever made this. :D

Who ever did this photo shop forgot few things but mainly none Ryzen 9 would work with a single 8pin

Frustrating really, assuming this can be rectified with drivers?

No one in the know can say so best not to put stock in any unfounded claims and speculation on the internal operation of Vega 'features'. Same goes for those who shoot the speculation down. We just have to wait until the RX launch.

Im sitting here waiting patiently.... I plan to start going beyond 1080p gaming so the 480 will have to go. i silently have high hopes for vega. If it doesnt compete in both price and performance I may jump to team green which would be a shame. . .

Another day another good result for the FE edition.

Edit He managed to keep the core 1600 in this video but temps are much higher. interesting
Thanks for watching, I decided to max out the fan speed and power limit to make sure all cards were performing at their max clock speeds.

I thought people chased the fps, not brand loyalty?

Damn, that Vega FE is hotter than my Radeon 5870.

hmmm with all the strange tests results on fe and things not going as they would ..
I'm thinking amd has done this on purpose ..I think we will see rx at 1700mhz well within 1080ti performance ..
just a feeling that nothing is as it should be ..

I wouldnt say i am Loyal, ive had equally as many cards from both teams. . Same with CPU's. But i have always preferred AMD probably based on price against performance ratios. And i guess if you do start going up into the 1440/144hz monitors Freesync always seem quite a bit cheaper.

At what refresh rate? An RX 480 can handle 1440p 60 FPS pretty comfortably on a lot of games, and even 100+ FPS on well-optimised ones.

Again seems more like likely that just-above max-clocked 1080 performance should be expected. Which is reasonable if it's around £450.

Since that could be achieved with only an extremely modest clock bump, keeping clock constant, and 10% driver performance.

Also apparently RX Vega gets an updated BIOS: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/6mfcpp/aibs_get_the_final_source_bios_for_radeon_rx_vega/

I plan on treating myself, and getting a decent monitor. From what i have read, a lot of people prefer higher refresh rate than resolution. id be aiming for 1440p/144hz.

Vega FE without a doubt will get a bios update as part of a newer driver package when RX Vega launches. Or sometime down the line when code is more stable.

It looks like it but as I've said before it's very disrespectful to those that bought an FE if it turns out they've purposely held it back until after the RX releases, especially considering the price of the FE.

It would be great...if it came out a year ago.

It'd be good to see some 1440p results too.

It's not like people weren't warned that the FE wasn't what you wanted if you wanted to play games mainly.
