Well said, the NVIDIA v AMD is more pathetic than the Xbox v PlayStation. Isnt the PC community suppose to more on the mature side???

I'm still using a 290 too, havnt seen anything worth buying in the same price bracket that I like to buy in, £300. Though I think that speaks volumes of the stagnant GPU market, a four year old card keeps up with the newer GPU's from both vendors in the same price bracket, that in it's self is pretty poor
I get the feeling Vega will also have long legs and improve a lot with time. I really want them to price it well as I already have a Freesync monitor and would much rather stick with AMD and support them. Just hope they do not make that impossible with their pricing, as end of the day I am loyal to my wallet and it always comes first :p

Only Amd have stagnated, Nvidia have just taken the **** with their pricing and ecosystem.

Exact same boat (r290), i dont care if another maker has a better card i need to keep freesync but i want better performance.
I think there are a few of us here with the same thought, I have no problem buying nvidia if they supported freesync i would have bought one already can't see that happening any time soon so it's amd for me even if it is slower than nvidia cards

Computerbase.de tested the card and found the card in reality seems to have quite low memory bandwidth in their test suite.

I do wonder whether this might be part of the reason the gaming benchmarks on the Vega FE look underwhelming.

Dunno if they've been fiddling with it but apparently currently its really easy to throw off the HBM clocks and/or cause them to not spin upto full speed in some applications. Its also possible the architecture sucks for raw texture transfer but is faster in other areas.

Nah it's the same, no better no worse, the same goes for the mining community as well, surprisingly they are also fighting each other when it comes to Nvidia vs AMD, just as toxic. I just hope that Fiji gets HBCC, but I don't think that that will happen, even though it would probably be one of the cards that would benefit of it the most...
