Then AMD can go screw themselves because who in their right mind would pay more for worse performance (unless of course they end up being faster than the gtx 1080ti by some sort of miracle)?
If they came in 15-20% faster at each tier then I think people wouldn't be so bothered. But a year late.... they need to be about £100 cheaper to be a success.

IIRC there was an article that showed manufacturers weren't getting the BIOS from AMD until 1-2 weeks before launch.

Yea I hear ya. Heat and noise is an issue for me too as my case doesn't have great airflow/cooling.
If a 1080 equaling Vega is available at around £400 then it will be a massive success.
And at that price, heat and noise issues... maybe tolerable.
The worrying thing is the price of the 580's.... over £300!
My worry is that the launch at Siggraph will be simply a paper launch.

I honestly hope for some here the RX Vega is as crap as they want it to be,otherwise some are going to get heart palpitations!!
Its only a few weeks until the launch,so best to wait now and see how it pans out. Some of you really are getting way too worked up over this now - its summer go and do something fun!!

Are people still excited to see Vega launching? I personally want to see it do well but feel with everything we have seen about the FE points to it being a 1080 competitor that runs hot and needs water to keep in optimal parameters but the water cooled variants will be expensive.

Wait its ten days?? Well thats even better - so we can hold off all the AMD is doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed posts until then!!
It all depends on price. I'm all set for a new system/workstation.
Either Skylak X or Threadripper, and then a new GPU.
If Vega has decent price to performance for my needs, I'll get it.

Or we can wait 10 days and see if its any good. Despite what everybody is saying we have not seen any of the RX gaming cards(what they look like),what the PCB or cooler looks like,whether there are aftermarket cards at launch,what kind of clockspeeds the RX Vega has,what the exact spec of the RAM is,and despite some saying drivers are final and drivers never improve performance,we don't even know what drivers AMD is shipping with the gaming cards.
So in the end with less than two weeks to go,all the negative and positive speculation won't mean anything as we can see what the actual cards people might buy will look like and perform,and also how much they cost.

If nothing else, lower 10 series prices would be nice.
Agreed. Price is key on this one and as long as there are decent AIB cooled cards at reasonable prices, all gravy

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised to see them rise slightly if Vega is a disappointment

Only if people on tech forums say things like that - Nvidia and retailers will only put up prices if enthusiasts beg them to,just like with the miners who will pay beyond the odds for cards.

I kinda want an AIO, as long as the pump doesn't sound like a cat having its tail stepped on.
The loudest parts of my system are the chassis fans, HDDs, and 980Ti Hybrid pump, in the order from lowest, to loudest. Noctua D15s is near inaudible, even when rendering for hours.
If it's ( Vega xtx ) a screecher I won't be happy, even if the price to performance is right. Hopefully we do get some amazing AIB versions; the Fury has fantastic solutions.
