That same Vega 10 chip is used in more lucrative segments, so there is no point selling it for loss to gamers. If someone is willing to trade freesync+amd to gsync+nvidia they are propably willing to trade it back if AMD gets something worthwile in gaming segment.

I understand what you are saying but saying Vega prices are "insulting" is complitely retarded. AMD cant sell those massive chips much cheaper because they would be making loss. Nvidia on the other hand is making nice profit out of you, while you are praising them. :D GTX 1070 and 1080 are great gaiming cards maeby better than RX variants. But saying RX prices are insulting, well...
 
I'm hoping that these hardware packs do make it over to the UK and EU. It IS a good idea in principle, purchase all AMD equipment that they've pre-selected for best compatibility and get a bit of a discount. It would be a one stop shop for PC builders, but we really need to see some genuine benchmarks.

They're saying that it's comparable to a GTX 1080, a card that is a year old already. Well it would have to be less expensive and consume less power, but that appears not to be the case.

Maybe when the other brands start producing their non-reference designs we may see some better figures but I'm skeptical.

I'm a little underwhelmed. I was looking forward to possibly doing an all AMD build and certainly would have considered one of these bundle packs. You could forgive the slight lack of performance if you are getting a £100 discount over the whole system but that's not a given for us.

What I see as problem is that 115 watt more than the 1080 for the same performance is not something that after 15 months of seeing what your competition is doing is good whilst being the same price. Other than having Freesync already I am really not seeing the incentive to buy AMD this time around.

Nothing is adding up and it's a shame as I was really hyped for this which doesn't happen often.

There's no need for that.

The performance to price is extremely disappointing considering the size of the chip, the big power draw, HBM2 and the new architecture.
 
Even if it is a failure, it's made even worse by the fact nothing's actually launched yet. After the PR disaster after the FE got reviewed, they continued that by not launching the RX Vega.
 
I'll be looking at the Vega 56 + freesync monitor to upgrade from a 980.

Hoping its £350~ and just under 1080 performance in dx 11 and beating it in dx12/vulkan.

I can see these leaving Pascal in the dust in the long term with driver finewine + proper dx12 support.
 
Well the writing was on the wall, we hoped against hoped. The Radeon Rebellion has been crushed by the forces of the Green Army... Anyway what platform is the Navi Hype train at? :D

Well its sad you dont read what I wrote to you. In no point did I insult you, I just called stupid thing you said stupid. When out of facts, play hurt or what ever they say :rolleyes:
