It looks like Linus is gong to rip AMD a new one next week. skip to 21:38ish

Ha ha, it looks like AMD paid Linus off with a trip to their headquarters just to stop him form ragging off on how AMD is handling the Vega launch. That video was meant to have come out over a week ago and it mysteriously never appeared!

Why didn't AMD announce the $499 for Vega 64 if you have to buy it in a bundle costing more?

All we have are e-tailers early listings - based on the AMD press release there will be the possibility to buy single cards from the 14th:

For gamers who already have the ideal setup and just want to get their hands on a groundbreaking Radeon RX Vega graphics card, AMD is also offering the Radeon RX Vega 56 on its own, the world's most powerful graphics card under SEP $400, and the Radeon RX Vega 64 air-cooled card priced at SEP $499.

Radeon Packs and Radeon RX Vega graphics cards are expected to be available starting August 14th. For more information on where to buy visit http://radeon.com/RXVega.

Everyone has seen these store prices, placeholder or otherwise & started melting down again.

He also states it could be worthwhile getting a VEGA 56 and flash it, as long as things like HBM voltage or other memory differences aren't holding it back it could be near enough 64 performance.
I still have my HD6950 flashed to 6970. Sweet times. Won't happen.

Custom water AIO expensive?

At those prices, I'd get one even if $=£. Have to draw the line somewhere, though, and £500 seems a reasonable place to do so.

Unless there is a GTX 1080 equivalent for under £450 (custom cards under £500), Vega is a waste of time, IMO.

If the GTX 2070 miraculously supports FreeSync and doesn't cost any more than the GTX 1070 I'd just buy that. *cough*

Dream on with that 100MH/s
Meanwhile, i think i am completely fatigued and bored waiting for rx vega... the excitement surrounding the product has now been completely destroyed.. its hit a new low in the mariana trench

anyone feeling the same? :D

The Vega party already ended for me when I looked at the power requirements. I only got a 650W PSU and Vega needs 1000W :p
