FIFA 18

You always tell me I say a lot, you know me more than I know myself!

I just have a good memory for useless information. On a serious note how come you're not excited about it?

It pains me to admit it but I can't wait, week booked off work, bought digitally and a few quid stashed away for some Fifa points.

I just don't see any major, exciting changes. Even FUT there isn't enough to changes despite all the money EA make. I think I've become too old to accept the same game and paying £50 for the privilege.

Oh and I get worse at FIFA each year and it's hard to take, didn't even have a 2.0 ratio for wins this time around.

I guess this is what growing up feels like :(

i'd be happy with that ratio, i've won around 890 games , lost 870 and drew about 50 so very much average lol

Can't say I'm excited for this one the beta sapped it out of me even though it won't play like that I hope. Ive played 12 games on the beta i just hate it, if the full version does play like it I think Destiny 2/COD and GT will take most of my time.

It would probably do me good fifa being a flop and exploring more games again, I lived/breathed 17.

In exactly the same camp. I don't like the beta at all, its enough to put me off of buying it.

I also played far too much FIFA this year, ultimately it cost me a lot of money and my relationship, and the worst thing about it is I spend most of my time hating it. Saying to a friend last night that I might give this one a miss completely.

I'll be picking it up, but I'm not convinced it will have the life span 17 has. That said 17 is the most I've ever played a Fifa game by a long shot. The freshness of weekend league helped that, I'm not sure any of the new features will give it a fresh enough feel and the weekend league won't be as good this time round due to having played it all last year so has potential to get frustrating and stale quicker.

If it's doing that to you then you should probably permanently give up on FIFA :p

FUT is far more enjoyable when you don't put any money into it imo, you don't have any expectations or regrets at just spending £80 to run through a tragic pack opening, the pressure is lower as you're not looking for a return on your investment and it's fun beating people who've clearly spent a fortune with a team of players you've worked on for no cost. It's perfectly possible to build your team up still to some really good players as long as you don't waste coins buying and selling every day or opening packs with them.

I spent a fortune on 13 and massively regretted it come the end of game and didn't like 14 so skipped a year, from 15 onwards I've spent nothing in game and I've had far more enjoyment, it no longer feels like gambling money away and that feeling you get when you lose (don't pack anyone).

I'll be on ps4 also. Pre ordered the icon edition on psn!

Ditto, I don't believe I have you on PSN if you'd like to add me Jimbeam3678

Weekend league is frustrating from the outset! We'll have to make sure we get some games in before you get bored !

I'm quite looking forward to it, saying that I've had about a month off 17 and really enjoyed it today.

Rids what you said about it costing your relationship and taking over your life sounds like every drinker and gambler I know. Sounds ridiculous but it can be very addictive, after all it's essentially gambling paying money to open packs in the hope of a win. What's different to paying to turn over 2 cards and hoping it's a blackjack knowing that ultimately you lose?

Maybe give it a miss and tell the ex you are taking one day at a time to a fifa free life. :o
