Nottingham carpark partial collapse

This is just starting to be reported upon.

A chunk off the side of the building and exterior wall have dropped off a carpark.

I might be missing something, but where the outer leaf with wall has fallen from the building there appears to be absolutely no steel protruding from the main body of the carpark.
Surely there should be some reinforcing within the concrete sections?
 
That should be reinforced as it's taking a load. I except someone will be fired once the finger pointing has settled. Maybe a criminal charge or two as well.
 
Be interesting to see whether adding that crash barrier caused any issues regarding water ingress into the slab
 
No it was extended beyond the pillars, and it collapsed to the pillars, so back wheels were parked beyond structural support.
Question has to be asked, why was that possible?

Were there never barriers/kerbs/bollards to stop vehicles parking that close to the edge or were they originally installed then later removed to increase usable space? Either way the decision maker needs to go buy some vaseline before the investigation starts.

no its a valid part of the available/usable floor space.
