Not so much this time round though, running your older games at better rez and framerates and your multiplats running better.
I do get the point about exclusives but i like my xbox / PC combo and with play anywhere and cross play I am bought into the ecosystem.
In fact gamepass is looking more promising with some of these upgrades as well.

I get what you are saying, but I think doing that makes the Pro (which is still fairly new) pointless and irrelevant. It is also like sticking two fingers up to everyone that bought one as focus would shift from developers trying to get the most from the hardware to start thinking about the next console. Why would they invest all the money they have in to the Pro if they knew the 5 was coming too as if they were to announce before or around Nov they would have known about it/working on it along side the Pro.

caveat - I have nothing against the Playstation so it's not be doing a PS vs xbox rant.

I agree with you, i just find it hard to believe that Sony will let the One X release go unchallenged, guess we'll see quite soon :)

There's nothing for Sony to worry about. The Xbox has practically zero presence in Asia. The UK is the only country in Europe where it has best sales. The Xbox has little to no Japanese titles. The Xbox has nothing that you can compare to Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War or The Last of Us. Sony generally ends up with weaker hardware in each console cycle. The Xbox was more powerful than the PS2. The 360 more powerful (arguably) than the PS3 and now the X1X more powerful than the PS4 Pro.
 
Really can't make my mind up on this one, I like new and shiney and I like to play games on my sofa at times, the only thing I'd buy on this though is Forza which comes out a month earlier on PC and I'm wanting to upgrade my PC CPU and motherboard soon, this really is a pointless item if you own a half decent PC but it'd be nice to have 2 different items to game on.
 
well, amazon and shopto are both out of project scorpio eds all ready.

Mines ordered with Game so unless they screw me im sortted.

Either its selling very well or it really is limited stock.

I own the Pro and love it's exclusives and I have pre-ordered the Project Scorpio to make sure I get that specific model.

Regards games, I have some 540+ games on my S and the X will improve them all.
It will also have the best versions of all multi-plats going forward, why would I not want one.

Anyone recommend a 3 or 4tb external HD? As my S came with a built-in 2TB and I'll need to move stuff over

Say I'm sceptical, but I will just wait and see about all these improvements they claim.

Notable exceptions on that list are Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty.

Only time will tell if they are improved or not and silenced due to marketing deals with Sony.
 
That's a pretty healthy list at this stage, hopefully a lot more will be added before release but i'm not sure whether 'X' will improve every single game.

Wonder if they will release a boost option ala the PS4 Pro to add more power to the games that aren't 'enhanced'? Or perhaps it'll do it out of the box?

It boosts all games the same as PS4 Pro does but uses only half the power so it’s 3TFlops instead of 6. Games need to be compiled using the latest XDK to get access to the 6. So in theory, any game could be recompiled with the minimum of work to improve frame rate or dynamic resolution even further - no need to have 4K resolution or assets.
 
Got my preorder with Amazon and game, I'll cancel one later on. I hardly ever use my xbox one but I can't resist something shiny and new :p
 
I finally decided to upgrade form a 360 to a one last year, right at the time the "S" had been announced/released.
I ended up deciding to get the original one, that way I could save money and probably get this new one.

I'm glad I didn't spend more and get the one s as I just haven't played it near as much as I would like to be able to, the joys of getting old and having a family I guess.

Yes you put Payment details in. Payment I believe is authorised but no monies taken until about 7days before according to the site.
