I'm happy about this, I played it for a little while a long time ago and enjoyed it but never got close to finishing. Lots of games being announced lately for the Switch!

Today, we're proud to announce new versions of the blockbuster detective thriller L.A. Noire, are scheduled to release on November 14, 2017 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Alongside these three new console versions, we're taking our first steps into virtual reality with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, featuring seven select cases from the original game rebuilt specifically for a virtual reality experience on the HTC VIVE.

Set against the seedy and violent underbelly of 1940’s Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is the story of decorated veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps as he investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each successfully solved case brings Phelps greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A.

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive delivers seven of the original engrossing, self-contained cases from L.A. Noire rebuilt specifically for virtual reality, blending breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience.

L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch features the complete original game and all additional downloadable content, with specific enhancements including a Joy-Con mode with gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work.

L.A. Noire for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One delivers the complete original game and all additional downloadable content with a range of technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity and authenticity, including enhanced lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera angles, high resolution textures and more. Plays natively in 1080p for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, and stunning 4K for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, these versions capture the grit and grime of the City of Angels like never before.

For more information, visit the updated website at rockstargames.com/lanoire and keep an eye out for more from L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files and L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both there and at the Newswire in the weeks ahead.

Genuine question.

I have come close to buying a switch a few times now but stopped.

I have a Wii U, is there much point buying a Switch, really?

I know there is the portability factor, this might get used but its not enough to swing it on that basis.

I have a wii u and it wasn't getting much use. My switch is getting way more use than any console in recent years. I've surprised myself with how appealing the portable aspect is. Trains, planes, bed, while others are watching TV I'm not into etc.

Slightly old news from a few weeks ago, but no one seems to have mentioned it - Secret of Mana 3d out next year but not for Nintendo Switch.

Between no localized version of the series being available and now a remake that won't make it to the Switch....what gives?

I have a Wii U and to be honest there isn't much point for the most part, I only got one for Mario Odyssey. Originally bought a Wii U for Zelda before it got delayed for the best part of 18 months. Saying that, it is excellent and it's looking like this console will get a lot better support on the 3rd party side this time. I'm using the portable side of it while waiting around, lunch breaks and stuff like that too which obviously I can't do with the Wii U.

Secret of Mana 3D looks utter rubbish to me, so I'm not fussed with this.

Quite interested in seeing how L.A. Noire performs on the Switch, it's only a handful of years ago that something like this running on a handheld device seemed crazy. Hopefully it does well enough that Rockstar consider bringing more games to the system in the future.

Yeah I really hope this sells well, although it isn't exactly one of their best games. If it sells well enough bring on RDR2! I don't care what sacrifices they have to make!

i sold my switch and want one back again didn't realise I would miss it even though when I wasn't playing on it much I wanted play on it lastnight..

I sold mine and bought another when MK8D was released. Can't say I'm playing it much at all now, the library is getting stronger by the day but with Breath of the Wild completed it's difficult to get really excited about anything else for me.

I just can't decide whether to get another or not.. It was handy for bed gaming lol or when away but still when i had it I hardly used it as I prefer the gaming on the Ps4 Pro and Xbox which soon be the Xbox One X

I've got a PS4 Pro and to be fair the Switch does compliment it very well. I think the Switch needs another decent year before it's a must have console. I like to have the latest gadgets - especially those of the gaming variety - so it's an easy sell for me. Putting my thinking cap on though it's probably not worth me owning one as it hardly gets used. My left joy con is back at Nintendo for repair so doubly so at the moment :(

Daft as it is, I'm really looking forward to Stardew Valley on the Switch, I've held off buying it on the PS4 because when the missus is watching TV it feels like it would be a great game to chill out to.
