Has Waitrose gone 'downmarket'?

Last time I was in an Asda, I grabbed the missus's behind and a bunch of neds called me gay.

For months on these forums a bloke used to write about his Indian "wife", it slowly dawned on me she was a he.... I am always confused nowadays about statements like your's above ;)

I love waitrose but since moving to Scotland it's hard to find one. M&S Food down the road from me though, so my middle class-ness can be maintained :D

Do you guys all live in the ghetto to have so many pikies and chavs in the neighborhood? Maybe it's just very different in London?

Also don't you just tend to shop in whatever is closest, most convenient?

Every branded item is cheaper in Asda than Waitrose.
Like what brands? Maybe the issue is what you're buying. For example we don't buy Heinz beans, we buy Waitrose own which taste better to us. We don't buy branded Muesli because it's crazy expensive. We buy Waitrose own. I could go on..

Well if the think something tastes better then you are kinda going to buy it anyway so yeah....
I'm talking anything mainstream.

I wouldn't be so confused if mine was a he, but she's female.

OEM female from factory too, none of the shenanigans that are so hot right now.

I don't think it's changed but they seem to have more offers/reduced prices now.

Lets hope the great unwashed don't get wind of this as might have to find somewhere else to shop..

Wouldn't know, never been in one. The nearest Waitrose to me is some 13 miles away and considering that we have at least a couple or three of each of the big names within a few miles (including one within 5 mins walk) I've never felt the need to go out of my way.

Pfft you actually go to supermarkets? Jesus.

Just order online and get it delivered.

Not a chance. Doing it yourself means you actually get to choose the items yourself rather than relying on some minimum wage store monkey following orders and giving you items with the closest sell/use by dates and the most banged up and bruised fruit and veg.
