SNES Mini Classic

They weren't joking about the controller cables being really short! I'm glad that I have a very long HDMI cable; I practically have to have the console sat at my feet to use it :mad:

Going to collect mine later :)

lol what's this about needing to plug it into a USB port... I rather do hope it comes with a cable for that purpose!

I bought a controller extension for £2 so not really that much trouble.

I've just ordered one from Amazon. Still pretty poor on Nintendo's part.

ALSO, why can't you output the game in 16:9? They should have made some effort with that.

Apart from those 2 minor issues I'm loving it. Super Mario World is still the greatest game ever made.

Because the point is to recreate a vintage feel, right down to the user getting out of the seat to go press the Reset button and corded controllers.

Because they would have to rewrite games or cut the top or bottom of the screen off...

Mine didn't work through my Denon, had to plug it straight in to the TV.

Very odd. Denon supports 720p output.

Edit: Found this post which is about the NES mini classic, which is the exact same internal chipset:
I'm using a Denon as well but eventually got it working by trying every HDMI port. The input closest to the HDMI output is the only one that works for me.

I find that the only way to play this is using the Scanlines mode - the 4:3 and pixel perfect modes look terrible.

Scanlines looks amazing though - even looks great on a 1080p LCD and great on a plasma.

I ordered one about 2 hours ago on Amazon prime now, ec2a post code, just got delivered to work address. Suggest anyone who wants one today check London postcodes on prime now for stock. Was surprised to find any, but I guess it makes sense as the local fulfillment stock doesn't appear on the main website.

Why would I check a London postcode if I don't live there?

The first time I realised I had to do this I thought, poor show.
But then the more I had to do it, the more it made me feel more nostalgic :)
And fully agreed about the 4:3 aspect ratio above whoever mentioned it.
One question, what is the difference between pixel perfect and 4:3?
What are you all selecting?

Good game Nintendo :)

Mine has been delivered today, loving the size of this! Bit disappointed with the length of the controller cables, zero chance of sitting back on the couch playing this at the moment.

Had to order some extension cables.

I knew this coming in and had got my cables months ahead.

It's not a big deal, wasn't planning on having a blast tonight anyway and Amazon Prime will have them with me tomorrow.
