I bought one ahead of time was mainly because last year when the NES came out these cables were out of stock for ages as they weren't made to begin with for this but for the Wii controllers nunchucks.

Preordered a pair a few days ago, arrived yesterday in time for today.
Glad I did order them, otherwise the stock controller length would not be sufficient.

Well it took me over 5 minutes to get over the first wall in super ghosts and goblins

As for the cable length... just have the mini snes on the floor next to you rather than at the tv *shrug*

I *think* it comes with a cable just not a plug (though you can use basically any mobile/tablet USB plug or order an Nintendo one from their store)

annoyingly I've not got mine yet thanks to DPD screwing up delivery or Tesco screwing up address and have been too busy today to phone them and sort it

Indeed it comes with a USB cable and no plug, mine seems to power just fine from a USB slot on my TV.

The American version does come with a wall wart though. Maybe it's some european thing about reducing electronic waste?

2 pin plugs are more slimline than our 3pin too. Might make packaging easier.

To be honest, I haven't even used the leads that it came in, over the years I have accumulated far too many micro USB leads and also HDMI cables.

Also, to really appreciate how small this thing is.

I have no idea what's going on with my Smyths Pre-order. I had the confirmation in June but unlike many I don't have any subsequent contact (it seems loads of people got cancellation emails on Friday). Customer Services are yet to reply....

Not sure how you'd get one since they'd surely have been sold out completely after they launched last year but it seems that the menu languages are probably in Japanese
