Well you can get 100-round banana clips but from what I've read they aren't very reliable and prone to jamming.
The fact the shooters gun here didn't sound like it jammed suggests it's more likely the reliable drum or belt delivery method. Time will tell, whatever the setup though it was clearly horrifically efficient and deadly :-(

Fully automatic ak's are available, and there are multiple different options for magazines including rpk sticks (40 or 50 rounds iirc) as well as drum magazines, basically the same kind of thing that's available for the ar family magazines.

That same youtuber also has an ak meltdown video.

Also as a note whilst semi auto "assault rifles" (really an assault rifle means select fire so has full auto but that's just pedantry over the term) dont have a waiting period, there is a waiting period for fully automatic firearms of any type.

If you are going to use logic and probability then you should be blaming domestic terrorism and NOT Muslim extremists considering that they are TWICE as likely to have committed such crimes on American soil ;-)
But I'm not surprised certain people have tunnel vision ;-)

I'm not so sure, USA, mass shooting and at an event full of young people screams rogue autist at me, in Europe or if it were a different method of attack would be a different thought process.

As I said way back on page 1, the MO doesn't line up with the majority of incidences of Islamic terrorism.

Less than 1% of mass shootings in America are carried out by Islamic terrorists. It’s far more reasonable to assume that the attacker was a domestic terrorist.
 
I can't link to it but at lunchtime I saw a video on twitter of someone recording the gunfire standing next to the base of the hotel or a building nearby. The rate of fire rose and fell as if the mechanism feeding the rounds was not consistent. It actually made me think of an old school crank handle gattling gun from a Western. Very odd and sickening sound.

Good job the police were relatively quick at breaching the room and stopping the carnage, death tool could have been even higher with that ridiculous arsenal at his disposal

Most likely someone with mental health issues, of a semi low wage. Enough to afford the gun but not enough to afford good health care.

Will work in a pointless /dull job. Probably ex military with low rank or no promotions or failed to enter due to health issues.

Probably single or abusive in a relationship.

I.e. not someone that should have a fire arm.
 
I think some flippant posts are being taken as serious ones! I hope so anyway.

But to deal with the shooter rather than the politics, having 8 guns in a hotel room means he's either simply very strong and paranoid or he deliberately took a large arsenal to a hotel room overlooking a music festival with the pre-meditated intention of using them.

Deleting the last bit because maybe it's too soon to make jokes.
