This law has now come into effect in Germany.

50 Million Euro fines, surely this is going to be a daily event, the amount of bile that is on the net is unmanageable, imo, it can't possibly take that long for these fines to start racking up against one company or another, possibly even unsustainable to some companies because they can't keep on top of the amount of this stuff that is on the net.

I know it is just Germany, but still, it smells of someone in the EU Germany saying Kerching!

Very worrying, the trouble is most of what will fall under this censorship will be uncomfortable political views like the Google memo guy expressed and got fired for, social media will become an even bigger echo chamber for left wing politically correct groupthink.

Why won't it?
Just because we won't be forced to adopt every single EU law going, doesn't mean we can't/won't implement our own half-assed, ill-considered version. Politicians' ideas on policing the internet are evidence of that possibility... and if it brings in useful tax revenue in places where it stands a better chance of working anyway, I imagine they'll leap on the idea regardless of consequences.

It's a terrible idea because it strongly reinforces irrational prejudices from powerful ideologies and other popular irrational prejudices and it strongly suppresses objections to them. What is and isn't classified as "hate speech" depends on who does and doesn't have enough power and status. So, for example, "Kill all white men" will be allowed (when that point of view was questioned, mainstream media in this country printed articles in favour of it - that's how accepted it is) but "feminism is a bad idea because it's inherently sexist" will be forbidden.

For a more famous example, consider the famous recent Google memo whose author was villified for saying that a person's sex does not define them, that individuals are individuals and not a biological group identity, that it's wrong to discriminate against people solely because of their sex, that it should be permissable to consider the possibility of inherently gendered trends existing since humanity shows some degree of sexual dimorphism (which it definitely does, though that doesn't necessarily mean that it explains any particular gendered trend) and that it should be permissable to consider ways that might reduce disproportionate numbers of men and women in an area of work without simply being deliberately sexist. That was regarded as hate speech because it disagrees with a powerful ideology of sexism and authoritarianism.

Nope, I have presented the truth. A Neonazi is a neonazi, you can't dress them up as anything different. That is not hate speech, it is factual observation.

If you believe I have i committed a hate speech then please go and provide the evidence or retract your ridiculous claim.
 
This isn’t a new law against hate speech. It simply gives authorities power to fine companies who don’t remove content that is already breaking the law.

Goign to stop you right there because the rest doesn't make sense given this lie.

If there are a bunch of non-white racists spreading hate and committing act of hate speech, why wouldn't they fall fowl of the same laws? Non-white peopel have already been sentenced for spreading anti-white hatred. These always don't change
that in Germany, ti just means that companies like Facebook can be fined for letting such hate speeches remain in publication.
 
Yes, perhaps all the Labour inactivists shouting 'Tory scum' in the Manchester streets should get a knock on the door.
