Amazon Password Reset Upon Logging In?

When I logged in I was emailed a code and then proceeded to reset my password. Why is this? Has someone tried hacking into my account or is this normal? Just wondered if anyone has experienced anything similar?

I've had this too. I think it was due to updates on their server. Just reset it and you are good to go.

Seems normal. Did it just happen when you actually logged in?

Yes I tried to log in to purchase something and had to reset my password. Don't know why but it's all ok now.

I couldn't even log in this morning when I tried to buy something. It kept asking me to verify who I was but never actually sent the code to my email. I had to contact customer service by email who got back to me in a couple of hours and fixed it with a reset password link.

When you logged in did it ask you to enter a verify code sent to your email?

Yes, it never arrived and neither did the resend code. I then tried a password reset (even though I was using the correct one) request which also didn't arrive. I had to get in touch with customer services who then did a manual a password reset request that did arrive. Reset my password and all is well again.
