Double Down Coming to KFC UK

I saw this on their menu last time I went and thought it looked gross. Its the cheese that makes it gross. I cant have cheese with fried chicken, it just doesnt go in my opinion.
 
Had this last night, it was ok but it's a bit messy as the bread is sort of a hand protector on normal burgers where the grease runs down you fingers on this (tried to eat it from the packet but there is no chance as it just slips all over the place).

Think I just prefer a normal Zinger over this.

I have to disagree I’m afraid. Cheese goes lovely with chicken when done right. If I cook a southern fried chicken fillet at home in the oven, I often pop a slice of American cheese on it.

I wouldnt call the stuff fast food places use cheese. I would be surprised if it even was cheese.

Might get a sigh but they should do that no problem.

Still waiting for our local to start selling this just to see what all the fuss is about.
 
I do love a KFC, it is my favourite fast food. I had a Double Down the other week and it was ok. I agree with sentiments above and yes it is a bit greasy and messy to eat, the wrapper is useless to try and hold it, i'd maybe give it a 6.5/10
 
It is exceptionally difficult to find/generate a truly GREAT recipe for fried chicken. I've been trying for almost a year now to get the right mix of everything. I have tens of recipes saved with loads of annotations added in to try and shake things up if I thought it was a little sub par.

and you cant make food tastier than cheap fast food? I don't think there are many people that agree with you, its like going to mcdonalds or burger king and goign their burgers are superior to anything you can make at home

My point is you said you can make better at home. I’m saying you can’t get a better skin at home than KFC. And I disagree that KFC is ****. I think it’s very good if it’s a decent franchise and is nice and fresh.
