British Jihadis Should Be Killed Says Rory Stewart

If you go to join ISIS then you stop being a British citizen in my eyes as you've pledged allegiance to another state/flag. At the very least they should be stripped of their passports and denied entry back to the UK
 
Or alternatively when they try and use their passports to enter the country you arrest them, try them and then jail them. They're criminals, pure and simple.

The UK is after all a western democracy, not the Islamic State or North Korea.

I don't think they "should" be killed

If they happen to get killed whilst fighting for ISIS in Syria or whatever, then I won't lose any sleep though.

Always prefer trial and punishment where possible.
 
Great idea, lock them up in prison, one of the main breeding grounds for Islamic extremism. If you are to lock them up, they should be kept isolated, away from impressionable young people. Frankly, I’d rather they were just blown up than ever setting foot back on UK soil just to suck up more taxpayers money. They leave to fight in a war. Well hey, guess what? People die in war.
 
Isn't that one of the main pillars of our society though, innocent until proven guilty.

Stick them all in 30 year isolation for all I care, but put them on trial before extrajudicially killing them.

Surely leaving to join IS is enough evidence. You don’t join IS to do missionary work.
 
After reading some of his books, I am of the opinion Rory Stewart really does know what he is talking about, (despite being a Tory :D)

The idiot papers are blowing this up a bit and trying to make it sound more than it is, He was not talking about rounding up and killing every single British ISIS member
He is specifically talking about fighting them IN SYRIA,

It's expensive to lock them up forever. Why should the people they were trying to kill have to foot the bill for keeping them?

Maybe use one of the un-inhabited islands in the outer hebrides as a prison and dump them on there. They can air drop them some supplies from time to time.

rather hard to do that if they're actively fighting in Syria

he's not talking about death camps or rounding people up for execution without trial after they've returned or something... but killing insurgents in a war zone

obviously if they get out of that war zone and attempt to return to the UK they can go on trial
 
Are Daily Mail articles being dumbed-down more than usual these days?

This is an article for people who want to feel outraged more than anything else. There isn't any substance or content to it if you take away the frothing and moaning over nothing.
