Destiny 2: PC graphics benchmark

mission starts around 3 minute mark.

you can see settings used at around 1 minute 30 seconds iirc

those results are BS.

I get 90 fps constant on a 1080 at 1440p res on the absolute highest settings. Whereas they say 75. my CPU only has 4 threads also. if i was running a ryzen or coffeelake it would be even higher.

Man you told us all you get 90fps "Constant" Right away I knew this was wrong! So now you give us a video showing I was indeed correct from the outside part of the video!! Of Course your FPS is going to be very high inside... So if you was fighting outside your FPS would be even worst than it is now in the early part of the video!

So I ask again why lie? they is plenty of times your FPS dropping close to 70fps outside! Do all Missions play inside? or is they outside ones like the first mission?

These Results was't BS going by your outside run, they match quite perfectly actually.

My FPS go up to 110 in places too.

So it's 75fps minimum. I'm also running my GPU underclocked by 10 percent as it's in a very tight space and it's a founders edition with the slower ram and crap cooling.

So a aftermarket 1080 would be running a lot faster still.

Also that's the lowest I have seen the FPS. I could have cherry picked a less going on environment but I just went to where I had to go next.

Even outside I get 90-100 FPS in places

Thing is you said to us all you get 90fps "Constant" reason I called you out on this because i knew it was false info, from the footage I have seen! Now had you told me I get 90fps in door areas I would have believed you, them places are not demanding hence the reason you went from 70fps to over 100fps.

Your min FPS was 70! a farcry from 90fps constant and going up and down to 90 or 100 isn't what you said! You told us 90fps constant lol

And now you using excuses about your rig! where before you talked about how excellent your rig is!

I had to swap my decent aftermarket 1080 out for the Fe version because it wouldn't fit in the case too tall.

My MSI 1080 I can overclock it and it still runs cooler than my Fe edition at stock by 10 degrees.

I changed cases between rigs as well as motherboard and CPU. I have went a Corsair air 240.

I'll keep an eye on FPS next time I'm gaming and take a video of when I'm 90 FPS constant outside.

However it's 70 FPS minimum and I get up to 110-120 FPS maximum.

Average 90 FPS overall.

The difference between an aftermarket and founders ain't that big tbh.

Overclocked the difference would most likely be less.

Were they tested in a small case with no exhaust fans at the rear or intakes at the bottom?

I own 2 * 1080's and in the same case the MSI was substantially cooler running.

The founders edition only runs cool if you have a intake fan blowing directly into its fan.

Well that's what I have noticed.

It's a pity my MSI doesn't fit. Otherwise I would have gotten rid of the founders edition. It literally sucks

I actually would have thought the Founders edition would be more suited to that due to exhausting heat out the back unlike the AIB's who exhaust into the case. No airflow is no airflow i guess. Does the extra heat in your case not impact on other components.

I have 2 exhausts at the top of the case so they extract all the heat as it rises. IMO it's the best method of airflow is to have heat rise and being pushed upwards then extracted from the top.

So I have the small noctua cooler on the cpu. The reason why I went noctua is because I knew other cheaper coolers would struggle in that environment and I have it orientated to exhaust directly upwards into the two exhaust fans.

The problem with the founders edition is getting airflow to the fan. I could manage that very easily in a larger case. I just placed a 120mm fan at the bottom as an intake directly into the mouth of the fan. As soon as I added this fan it was now capable of decent cooling. Basically the built in cooling is inadequate on it's own it needs direct airflow too.

The MSI 1080 is just built amazingly well. It's huge though it's about 2 inches taller than the founders edition. It won't even fit into the GPU bracket on the Corsair air 240. I have no choice but to use the Founders edition in this case.

I was thinking of either selling it and getting a 1070ti but then it's a loss of £100 for a slightly inferior gaming card.

I suppose that exhausting heat out the back is good but it just doesn't seem to do it well enough. Also I can see dust now getting clogged in the heatsink fins I blasted it with air and it removed most of it but 2 chunks still remain. It's just a terribly thought out cooler. The best method of cooling is like I said push air upwards and out.

In my Corsair 200r I have 2 intakes at the front at the bottom. Another intake at the bottom beside the PSU which isn't attached to anything it just sits there. I have another intake on the side at the lower vent. So I have a lot of cool air coming into the bottom of the case. The fan that sits at the bottom pushes air upwards. I then have 1 rear exhaust at the top and 2 top exhaust fans. This is the coolest system I own. Stick anything in there and it runs sweet.

My other case is a s340 elite from nzxt. It's a looker but again the cooling even with fans everywhere isn't that great because I can't get a fan pushing air upwards installed due to the big chassis mount bwhich covers the PSU and hard drive bays. It ruins the aesthetics.

Such a poor performance for GTX1070.

Vega 64 Vs 108TI vs 1080.

Vega 64/1080TI tied, 1080 a long way behind.
Shanks posted this one a while back.
This is the one where the Vega was tested by a different person on a different PC and tweaked with increased power limit and a slight memory OC wasn't it?
Also the Vega was LC and the 1080 and 1080Ti were both founder editions (reference blower coolers) if I recall.

They could be videos from shanks or amdmatt for all we know :p

And again like I said last time. The out of the box performance is much, much better on Nvidia that AMD can not compete unless the user tweaks Wattman!! So its a best case scenario for Nvidia and AMD.

Well unless I like talking to myself on Reddit
This is the same guy saying I made a mistake. Dont see how though.

I just looked at it, gives basically 0% performance gain you obviously made a mistake in your benchmarking somewhere Mr Joker Productions.

Shouldn't we compare out-of-the-box with out-of-the-box or tweaked/OC'd against tweaked/OC'd?

I can't believe if they OC'd a watercoolled 1080Ti against a stock out-of-the-box Vega 64 AC that'd you'd be happy with those results.

No because an out of the box vega sucks. That is my point.
But most people are gonna run their GPU out of the box. I'm sure there are improvements to be made with a 1080Ti too that you can get from tweaking.
How much do you tweak to level something up? Who says when it's levelled? How do they know?

Also, a different person running it on a different machine. How is that comparison useful/fair?

Again, the FE 10 series cooler is much better. Out of the box it automatically overclocks the GPU much higher than a poor out of the box vega GPU.

How is it fair to have one GPU that will auto boost much higher vs a GPU that will just down clock out of the box?

A simple tweak to the Vega GPU lowering voltage is enough, don't even need to touch the core or memory speed and you will gain much better performance and higher clocks just like a 10 series does.

It's amd biggest downside the stock ref cooler looses them a lot of benches.

I always run my 1080Ti out the box. I don't have time for messing about tweaking this and that to get it to run normally and comparing a tweaked card to a standard card is just plain wrong.

Mind you, Shankly see's it as fair, which isn't surprising lol
