A new titan X?

If it is Pascal based there is plenty of room in the existing Titan owners thread.:)

I don't think many will buy this new Titan as there are only about 3 people on the forums who have the Xp version.
Is that all? I don't have one either.....I'm making do with the original crappy TXP :p.
I'm hoping with Volta out there they have some leftovers for a "Collectors" TXV with Pascal continuing in production for a while.

There is not much different in performance between the older TXP watercooled and the new Xp aircooled. I use the older cards 99% of the time for gaming.

Pascal plus Google enable = enable Freesync?

Nvidia already uses non gsync adaptive sync in the gsync branded laptops.
aka there is no gsync module there. Is using the VESA standard.

If thats difficult to comprehent, maybe keep away from technical sections in this forum.

Rumour is it's actually a Volta Titan.

I may have just started this rumour myself. Wishful thinking!

100% this.

Release Volta already...

Sorry, they wouldn't have invested as much as they have in a die shrink, it's as simple as that. Even if that was part of the process, a hell of a lot of R&D would have gone into the extra improvements. Saying "essentially a die shrink" is rather insulting to the engineers involved I'm sure. Especially in the case of Pascal....die shrunk Maxwell, yeah right.

it's so very easy when you/we don't have the knowledge (that only the manufacturers do have) to simplify something - it's a natural human behaviour/flaw :D

No one knows what they spent on Vega R&D wise even you sorry to point this out. Could be all the budget being spent on Navi for all we know.
I can remember everyone trying to calculate how much Vega's performance would be. Because you can easily have a educated guess what a die shrink brings performance wise. And we had a baseline what to expect from Vega and then with all the touted improvements people expected a little extra performance form that also. Well it seems Vega has landed exactly where people predicted with just a die shrink level of performance. So either they loss performance with a die shrink and made improvements, which some how didn't seem to do much for the power draw. Or it's essentially a die shrink. I'm, not taking anything away from the engineers because they still have to change things for a die shrink.

I could easily say more improvements were made with Pascal from Maxwell to Pascal than just a die shrink because of the performance uplift and power efficiency to a certain point.
Overclocking Pascal and you loose this efficiency noticeably. But Pascal is great, as you can see because nvidia are in a position to milk the hell out of it.
I remember RTG saying they have made the most improvements and changes to the architecture with Vega even since GCN was introduced. Well seems they went forwards one step then backwards 2 and a dieshrink then.
What a waste of R&D if this is the case.

Edit -

What i will say about Vega in fact is that it scales very very well down power wise. Because what i have seen from upcoming laptop APU chips is in a 15 watt TDP package this thing kicks ass GPU performance wise compared to Intel. So must be a case that desktop discretes have been overclocked a lot out of the box because of power consumption is rather high and people have reported that undervolting provides extra performance. Strangely enough.

All this ridicule and talk of milking... If this new GPU has 30% over a 1080ti then @Gibbo will be mincing through here wearing his green mankini, collecting all our $$$'s as he goes.

Who cares what it's called? Who cares what it costs? Numbers... We need the numbers! :D

:D

My guess is a TXP but with a super upgraded turbo kryten cooler. :D :p
