Breath of the Wild will be my first Zelda game ever. I've never been hugely into Nintendo and don't have any connection to the nostalgia, can I still enjoy the latest Zelda regardless? Every review I've read has said it's one of the greatest games ever made, I'm not usually into fantasy type settings, Skyrim is probably the only exception I've encountered so far. Am I going to be disappointed on Christmas morning? I've got Mario Kart 8 as well apparently. :D

Possibly, most people I know who liked it like Zelda. But if you liked Oblivion, it is different from most RPJs.

It was a friend of mines first Zelda too and he was absolutely blown away. Never really touched Nintendo games before but couldn't ignore the praise for this one. Think he suck 120 hours in. Has also picked up Mario and is having a similar experiance there

You'll love it mate. Go in with an open mind and just chill out and discover things. It should have been called 'oooh, what's over there'.

Doom reviews are rolling out. Sounds fine, just low res and issues with the joy con sticks being a bit small which was a concern I had. Obviously fine if you own a pro controller.

Ultimately I imagine if you missed the game last year then it will be fine to play on the switch as a first time! However owning it on another platform, I think I'm fine without it. Great to see the support

I do feel through that Doom and Skyrim especially should be £20-25 max. Wolfenstein, sure full price makes sense even as a later release but Skyrim is rather old Now, i do feel they are taking the Mick a bit. Just my opinion

I can see why Skyrim would charge more - they at least went through the effort of making it fully motion controlled (no doubt due to working on a VR version anyway). But with Doom not having motion control I may give it a miss. A shame as I never played it, but I don't do FPS on consoles because as a PC player I cannot deal with controller use, if it had motion control aiming though I would get it.

I would not worry, you would have to have a screw loose not to enjoy the latest Zelda. If anything it should make you wonder how you have not played all the previous ones. Gameplay wise it barely even resembles a Zelda because it has moved on so much (which is good, previous Zelda's were amazing, but more of the same would have been underwhelming).

I recognize there is likely some irony with me saying you'd have to have a screw loose not to enjoy such an amazing game considering I have no interest in the Mario that just released. Means I must have a screw loose.....so good news, apparently the Zelda is awesome even if you DO have a loose screw!

I'd never played a zelda game properly before BOTW and its easily my game of the year. Mario is brilliant as well but in a very different way and is a bit more undulating quality wise. Mario + Rabbids has been a really really good game as well if you haven't seen that.

The next huge game I am excited for is Metroid 4. They had better not mess this up as the first metroid on the GC is still in my top few games of all time. If they release that on VC for the switch I will be a happy happy man.

Got Doom arriving today from Amazon, out of pure want to support these types of games coming out and an excuse to play through it again on the go.

Think it cost me £31.99 in the end from Amazon due to the price drop to £39.99 pre launch and the £2 prime discount on top of a further £6 I got through a £30 top up promo.

I mean props to them, at least they managed to include all the DLC for multiplayer which is nice!

Will be a nice distraction from collecting all those Moons in Odyssey until Xenobalde consumes my Switch gaming time :D

Hi guys,

I am really struggling with getting The Switch to work online when I tether using my EE Galaxy S7. I can connect to the e-shop and make purchases, I just can't play online due to the strict NAT. Any ideas or solutions?

Snipperclips Plus is out now if anyone was waiting. £20 for the cartridge version seems reasonable. Played the demo with my brother a couple of weeks ago (we’re both 30+) and we were in hysterics sabotaging each other whilst trying to complete the task :D - great fun!

Sorry for the noobie question, but, our right joy con seems to lose it connection quite a lot and when it is paired there seems to be a major lag when pressing buttons. Will game be able to replace it for me or do I need to contact Nintendo?

Food for thought - I thought my joycons were a bit crappy yesterday, then I realised my TV wasn’t on game mode like usual. I also hadn’t attached the ‘wrist straps’ - not sure if that made a material difference with blocking signal (I.e the extra plastic stops your fingers getting in the way of the antenna). Might not make a difference, just an observation.
