How bad of a response can you get ...

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am trying to find out which screws fit the following holes on the 750D case hard drive bay and hard drive cage as I need to fix my hard drives to the tray and the tray to the hard drive cage in order to help reduce vibration noise:

We don't have a specific screw for just that what we have would be the set http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/accessory-kit-730t-750d-760t-780t here is the link and the screw your looking for would be included.

Person thought you wanted them to send you the screws and recommended an accessory kit which has them included. May have misunderstood you just wanted the name of the screws, as you can find out very quickly in an internet search. Those screw-holes and screws are universal. It's not specific to that case. Same size screws as the four for PSU.

I've worked out that the normal HDD/ODD screw type secures the hdd to the tray but I am struggling to work out which screw secures the hdd tray to the hdd case.

I just did a build with this case .... and also have lots of vibration noise coming from the mechanical hard drives

I have 2 x Mech HD in my rack and it is a pain for noise

If you use mech HD's ... don't buy this case

@lurkio I have managed to reduce my noise issues considerably.

I used the standard HDD/ODD screws from the kit included with the case to secure the mechanical drives to the hdd trays.

I've used the HDD tray screws as indicated in the case manual to secure the trays to the hdd cage. They look like the bottom middle bagged screws in this image.

For me its the metal box that holds the trays is what making the noise
I removed the extra one and it reduced the noise a bit
Might try some rubber grommets I have laying about to see if that helps

I do have a load of HD mounting screws anyway, did u remove the rubber ones?
or just add more screws to eash side of trays ?

Rubber ones? :/ I just added screws to each side of the tray and then to the only cage side (you cannot secure the cage on both sides, only one).

True of many Corsair cases but not exclusive to Corsair either. In future I'll be trying to move away from having any mechanical HDDs in my main systems at all.

I would prefer to have a couple of storage mech HD's, if something goes wrong you have a chance to recover data, SSD fail are usually fatal to data

The Lian Li PC7 case I had before this had great HD mounting with longer screws with grommets on them
to slide into the mounting recepticals

Ah yeah - I've a NAS in a rack cabinet out the way for backup which also replicates to external drives in round robin fashion and some cloud replication for certain files. Not a particularly common setup though.

@lurkio this may interest you.

Recently I started hearing the vibration noises again. So after a good couple of days troubleshooting this, I finally found what works best for the 750D case.

Having the hard drives secured with screws to the trays helps but if you secure the trays to the cage, that seems to help cause vibration noises (a humming sound).

I've got the hard drives secured to the trays but not secured the trays to the cage with them slightly orientated in a way so that the plastic clips don't touch the cage edges

This seems to work best.

I'm not sure if it is relevant but I also screwed the tray cage to the chassis by inserting a screw behind the front fan into the whole on the side of the tray cage. You'll see it. Also secure the tray cage to the case using the two screws on the bottom (at the front of the tray cage).

I'm contemplating replacing this case after this experience though to be honest.

It was the opposite for me, one of the front panel tabs on my 760t broke so I rang up asking if I could buy the panel seperate rather than another £150 (at the time) case.
They asked for proof of purchase which I'd lost a while back, asked me if I had other Corsair stuff which I said yes (I do), and they posted one out for free at there expense.

I had a go at the bungee cord mod for the 3.5" drive bays to try and reduce the noise
Seems to be ok ... so far

Bought 5m of the 5mm stuff from ebay and just needed 4 small cable ties to hold the ends together
