As title, does the right one look good? Or is it a case of on 90% of people they look like mid life crisis/trying too hard?

Really like the look of some of the Soul Revolver cafe racer style ones, e.g. Starkiller, Hybrid, Origins, etc. but not sure if I'd just look like a **** (more than usual :p)

Opinions? Yes I realise this is very much a case of ttiuwiop, but that's unlikely to happen I'm afraid :p

Also anywhere else with decent quality worth looking at?

Got one myself made by barneys. think i got it from debenhams, pricey but if your gonna buy one buy a decent one!

Very warm like a second skin. Couldnt care less what others think of it lol

Depends - there are plenty of good looking leather jackets that most people can wear fine but there are some that you need the right look to pull off and otherwise look like a mid-life crisis, etc. heh.

I've got one that unfortunately was only available in a very dark brown and I can't really pull it off while in black I can but unsurprisingly black sold out really fast :s

IMO Soul Revolver stuff a lot of it you really need the right looks and personality to pull off without it looking a bit sad. (EDIT: Though they've expanded the range a bit since I last checked with some decent less "distinctive" designs that a broader range of people could wear no problem).

I have one I wear occasionally but I've got to be in the mood, I feel like I could survive a night in Antartica wearing it.

I've got/had leather jackets from all kinds of ranges including M&S Blue Harbour or whatever it is, Richa and Berluti but the probably best made and my favourite is a £100 jobbie from Xposed.

EDIT: In terms of warmth though they are all over the place - depending a bit on the lining - some block the wind well but aren't really warm, while others aren't bad - but I'd still not choose one over a proper winter jacket if it was cold.

Pretty much anyone can wear a plain leather jacket and it will look decent.

A jacket like Brad Pitt's in fight club is a little more difficult to pull off.

I've got a Barneys one. Really warm like you say and well made, just wait for the sales. It is kind of half leather half suede, like textured leather. Love it.

I'm 42 and wear an All Saints one, my sister in law asked me where I got it from so, as she's the only person to comment on it at all, it must look ok.

Correct, i have a couple of them i've accumulated over the years and whilst they keep the wind at bay you really need to be wearing a jumper underneath to keep warm.

So basically I either need to grow a moustache and say "tally ho chaps" a lot, or look like a film star? I'm sure I can pull at least one of those off :p

Sounds like I need to find somewhere I can try a few on to see if they suit me before dropping £3-400 on one online

just get one and don't worry about it... doesn't matter if you're not James Dean or the Fonz, they're still pretty timeless
