Austrian far right party in government again

I did, I even explicitly wrote assuming a parliamentary system. There's no deceit in my question. I'm being very explicit.

So I'll open it up then, do you think any form of government to govern the world is a good idea?

No, it is an absoloutly idiotic idea, and one which would end in oppression, conflict and corruption.

How would local interests be handled, would I still have a local Council? I guess all the money would go into one pot, which presumably would then be shared out. What would a health service look like? I mean most people in third world countries wouldn't be able to pay in, yet they'd be entitled to the same level of care as the rest of us which is obviously unaffordable, unless we just privatised health care?

Could you give me some specifics?

How would Saudi Arabia operate alongside Canada, one is a highly conservative country governed by Sharia Law, the other is a fairly liberal country, should Saudi Arabia completely change how they like to live or should Canada be more like SA?

What about borders, what would stop the entire continent of Africa moving to Europe and North America? How would we handle such a large movement of people, where would we house them and how would we care for them when it inevitably happened?

The only way I can see it working is if the world was communist. We all work for the benefit of everyone and the world. And the issues with communism are well known. Why strive for more and better when everyone needs to only do 'just enough'? A communist world with leaders is a bit paradoxical, there's hierarchy there. However the only way I can see world communism working is if you unite the world under one common interest, so every person in the world has a motivation. I.e. some cosmic catastrophe approaching or something similar.

I suppose it's slightly worrying if you have views on immigration akin to Angel Merkel 3 years ago.

Ahh the woman now offering thousands of Euros to failed "asylum" seekers to go home with lots of other expensive incentives thrown in. She sure knows how to run a tight economy ;)

"Germany is offering thousands of Euros to rejected asylum seekers who voluntarily return home.

The scheme, which the government has dubbed “Your country. Your future. Now!” will run until February next year. Individual migrants can receive up to €1,000 ($1,185) if they voluntarily return home, while families can receive up to €3,000 to do the same. The assistance is meant to help reintegrate rejected asylum seekers in their home countries. The refugees, which were unsuccessful in their applications, could also get subsidized housing for a year—to help pay rent, home renovations, or get basic equipment for a kitchen or a bathroom.

At the height of the refugee crisis in 2015, chancellor Angela Merkel vowed to deport rejected asylum seekers with “a friendly face.” In practice, this means promoting voluntary return. As well as cash incentives and subsidized housing, rejected asylum seekers could also receive financial travel assistance and one-time financial start-up help. The government is also pointing rejected asylum seekers to so-called “counselling centres,” where they can receive support and advice."

Yep she's full of great ideas!

I think proposing a model and implementation method for a one world government is a little beyond GD!

But you think it's a good idea and what we should be striving towards, throw out some suggestions at least. How would we get North Korea on board without a nuclear war? Would America be happy to shred up their constitution? Would Russia be happy if Europeans were out voting them on laws that had more of a negative impact on Russia than Germany? I suppose drug smuggling would be easy for South Americans so they'd be happy with a lack of borders.

I don’t know. Not any time soon, anyway.

I do think it’s worth remembering, though, that all countries as we know them were once nothing more than a collection of warring tribes. Clearly unity can work.

You do not need to share a government for "unity", whatever that means, could you actually clarify what you mean by that and what the benefits of unity are? Are you worried about a war? Do we need to be able to trade more? Why do we need unity, is something currently broken?

I’m not suggesting we need to do it. I’m just saying I don’t believe it’s as impossible as some people think.

I think it's possible, but you're looking at hundreds of years time when we basically have unlimited free clean energy, no food or clean water problens, no religion, humans basically no longer need to work and we have perfect health care; preferably with robotic AI doctors. Essentially we need to be living in the Star Trek Universe. Right now the idea is far fetched and basically laughable.
