Things you've noticed as you're getting older?

TV to me is just cooking, soaps, reality TV and drama (i.e guff), none of that interests me. It used to be loads of motorsport and stuff, that interested me. It's not about production quality for me it's content, and the current stuff does nothing for me personally.

Yes, so you've said TV to you is all the crap stuff, then basically said TV is crap. Well it is if you watch crap!? What an odd argument.

My point was the 'good stuff' is way better than the old 'good stuff'.

32,

Never ever want to be hung over no matter what because only get 2 days off a week.

Have to be more careful at gym because of my bad knee

Bit of hair loss, don't care about going grey though it is happening

Don' carewhat others think

Don't have career aspirations anymore, as long as it pays for my hobbies I want little stress

Enjoy just being outside with the gf

Don't ' do what other people want me to do, just do what I enjoy

Value a girl more for her hobbies and personality than looks

Don't care about news, celebs etc, but never really did

Don't watch tv except things I generally enjoy.

Do more social stuff but only with people I like.

100pc sure I don't want kids now and gf knows it

Mainly valuing my time, not caring about being judged, spending more time with hobbies, not doing things just to fit in and what' 'expected' (ie drunken nights out).

Overall I'm much happier now, just wish I had become like this in my late 20s not 30.

How is it odd and who's arguing

I merely have an opinion that modern TV to me is rubbish.

I also find that as I get older people tend to appear arsier...

Okay, so what you actually mean though is what you watch is rubbish, which is quite different is all I'm saying.
No, I don't watch it, so no... What I mean is this, the 'kind' of stuff on TV from what I see is cooking, drama, 'reality' and soaps, these appear to be the mainstay of british TV. None of this interests me. This doesn't leave much to watch apart from the odd docu and a small amount of Netflix with movies being the most watched thing in our house. I'm not sure if this is my/our age but what I do know is that years ago I could get more pleasure from TV but years ago it had a load of motorsport and stuff and well, reality TV and the like was somewhat entertaining as it was fairly new, or maybe because I was younger...

Hope that makes sense :)

Edited: I think I should add to my list that the older I get the harder I find it to express myself...

1. I still find the same type/age of women attractive, they no longer look at me the same way.
2. I çan't be bothered with late nights now.
3. I look forward to going to work.

reality TV and the like was somewhat entertaining

Hmm, if this is part of what was 'good TV' I think I'll leave it there as we're clearly not on the same page.

**EDIT** That's probably not fair as good and entertaining aren't the same. You can have trashy TV that's entertaining.

Are you actually looking for good TV though, or do you sit down and switch on and there it is, rubbish TV? Netflix has some great TV on it.

Realising that most people in management positions/positions of power are awful and don't have a clue what they are doing.

I see this a lot but unless you've been in a role like that it seems fairly easy to just have that viewpoint on it, those people usually have seniors they have to report to as well, so some of their decision making might not be their own.

I would probably agree though that leadership is a skill that few people have the knack for, it's incredibly complex and ahead of basic management positions where you only have an incredibly small team to deal with, it takes years to gain the experience not just of the industry but of people and how to get the best out of them. Many people just move into management for the salary increase instead of having the sense of wanting to lead a team.

TV warnings before they show , you know, flashing lights, bad language, scenes of a sexual nature, Etc. like we are chiildren or something

But strangely no warning preceeding the recent sleb episode of Eggheads:

E.G. WARNING, bloke with huge malformed head appearing in this episode.

Same with that weathergirl with the half arm.
No warning, there she is.

I'm only 31 and starting to feel it.

Nose hair has been a thing for a while now and drives me mad.

I make noises when I stand up from a low chair.

I'm really unfit, and I'm finally getting to a stage where I can't just eat anything I like. I officially have a "dad bod". Contemplating exercise

I feel like the high street has literally nothing of value to me

I can't be bothered with social media at all and can't understand people who spend ages doing selfies all day

The idea of staying out clubbing until 3am sickens me. I'd rather go to a quiet pub with decent music and retire before midnight.

I think the clothes young people (youths) wear look ridiculous. In fact I think young people in general are ridiculous.

Most of my conversations involve parenting

I am becoming a big fan of taking naps.

Old sports injuries are now new joint pains.

  • Noticed how much I appreciate a quiet Sunday morning lately..... Doesn't bother me, can't recall it ever bothering me.
  • Started having to trim my nose hair...... Get your knees brown, I've been doing that for years, and having the barber trim my ear hair.
  • Have no idea who any celebrities from the last 5 or so years are...... Make that 20-25 years.
  • Most of my cultural references are from the 90s and early 2000s...... 60s 70s for me, perhaps early 80s.
  • Back hurts pretty much every day now....... Not got that one, thank Christ.
  • Started listening to Queen unironically........ Wouldn't give them house room, rather listen to The Queen's speech, (kidding, but not about the band)
  • Can get by with much less sleep....... Identify with that, 4 hours, sometimes 3 is adequate.
  • The internet is getting more and more boring........ Only gradually, not dramatically so, yet.
  • Hardly ever feel like watching TV anymore........ Bingo, straight in the pickle barrel, mostly News Channels for me now.
  • Zero interest in video games....... Never did have.
  • Increased interest in gardening........ As above, in spades, (pun intended).
  • Get a bit excited about my yearly blood lipids test results........ Not sure, will Google lipid later.
  • Sometimes I think about buying a boat....... Never entered my head.
  • Increased interest in radio 4........ As above.
  • Got my first divorce under my belt........ Did that before you were born, no intention of ever having another one.
  • Started to prefer red wine instead of beer. And one glass is enough....... Red wine makes me sleepy, don't drink beer, don't like the taste, same for tea, vile, will drink white wine, but much prefer vodka, one shot is never enough.
  • Less interest in weight training and more interest in cycling and endurance........ Never had an interest in any of that, keep reasonably fit and slimmish, by watching what I eat, and walking when I can.
  • Don't feel the need to try and impress anyone, happy to be plain and invisible....... Agree with that.
  • Feel like I have women figured out quite well........ Took me until I was around 40, but I think I've got it now.
  • Seem to be more tolerant of others. "That's nice dear."........ To quote Buddy Holly, who was quoting John Wayne in 'The Searchers", (see No 4 above), "That'll be the day."
  • Catch myself imagining what kind of grand dad I'll be (could happen in about 10 years)........ I know what kind I am, a good one, two German grandsons, 22 and 18, one English grandson 13, one English granddaughter 10, an angel.
Not even 40 yet......A callow youth, get some in.

Are you saing children should be protected from seeing any physical deformaties?

Requiring a warning is a bit weird. To what purpose is the warning?

Flashing lights for epilepsy, scenes of a sexual nature to warn parents so that they prevent their kids from watching but what is this one for?

Early forties...

1. More of a total **** I be.
2. Nose hair - where the hell did this come from?!
3. More or less stopped drinking beer, prefer my spiced/rum now.
4. Falling on my rear thanks to the ice really hurts for days!
5. I still don't watch TV so I've got that going for me.
6. I still don't listen to todays music so I've got that going for me.
7. Going to the barber for a trim and grimacing when the mirror comes out. It gets worse each year.
8. Can't seem to find enough to game/watch films now that I'm married.
9. Find it hard to control my temper on the bus home thanks to schoolkids eating themselves to death with xxxx fried chicken.
10. Damn nosehair!

I am gobsmacked that 30-40 year old's are feeling old - For goodness sake get a grip - just wait till you get to my age 73 - I have to switch PC on to find out what date and day is - can't remember what I did yesterday most of time - most things ache - can't eat half of what I used to but other than that things are fine.

I only watch the F1 -University Challenge and Antiques Roadshow - Get all wet and dribbley over Fiona Bruce.

I have to say though that the future is worrying me with all the health cutbacks and me not having any close family. At moment only got high blood pressure - need glasses and got most of my own teeth so things could be a lot worse.

By the way I never get up in the night for a pee.
