Things you've noticed as you're getting older?

As mentioned before...........

Time.

1 minute = 1 second
1 Hour = 1 minute
1 Day = 1 hour
1 Week = 1month... etc.

Time moves fast when you get old.

I don't class this as social media, I mean all the crap that people are staring at on their phone whilst walking out into the path of a bus.

This is just a forum, they've been around for years.

This place is just like my Facebook feed but worse sometimes, I see no difference except that I know people on Facebook.
Social Media as far as I'm concerned and always has been.

Social Media as far as I'm concerned and always has been.

I see them differently, forums to me are just anonymous places where I get information and ideas from like minded people with similar interests, I log in, have a browse and then turn it off, I'm not really bothered if I don't log on for days on end as I don't get fear of missing out.

Social media like facebook and twitter to me seem more personal, people take them far too seriously and have to be permanently glued to it. I'm not really interested in what Bob down the road is having for his tea hence I've never used them.

- Enjoy talking to complete strangers if the chance ever comes up. For example, if I see a mint looking dog being walked as I'm going for lunch or something then I'm likely to stop for a chat, and some extreme petting. Or if I'm in a shop buying clothes or whatever, and the shop assistant starts small talk, then I'll engage. This never used to be the case. As I get older, I find myself being able to tolerate more, for the better of course.
- Like playing with babies and animals. They're often messy or goofy, but I get on well with them and they're really amusing too! You can also be goofy with them and nobody bats an eyelid. Act like a child any other time and people lose their minds.
- I don't really take things too seriously, as in things that others make a big deal of, I don't. Why fret? Just relax and be calm. People at work mention it often, not in a bad way of course, but I tend to not beat around the bush about anything. If a director asks something, they'll get a straight up answer or solution, "yes your idea will work, here's when it can be done" or "no that won't work, here's why, I propose this instead" - Obviously office politics means common sense never prevails, but still....
- Dislike using cash or even chip and pin as time goes on. If it isn't contactless, I might just walk away. I prefer efficiency in technology, even though I have lots of patience for biology. I feel as though in 2017, retail outlets should all be up to date.
- I used to prefer solitude when younger (late teens to early 20s) but now prefer the company of others more. I suppose as we get older we naturally want to be part of something greater, a sense of community, if you will

- I find I appreciate music much more as I get older, there are some really great modern songs and albums out there, but even classics have a new lease of life with modern re-masterings. I don't think enough people in the modern world appreciate the benefits of music therapy.
- Proof reading the posts of others on the internet is more and more amusing:

I have less patients.

Were they leaving sick? :D

After reading this thread Ive noticed a few things now.

People my age (34) look older than me. I can see they have crows feet around their eyes. I don't know if that's mainly due to my genetics. Also I am not married or have kids unlike many of my friends.

Women in their 20's are getting fatter. When I was in my late teens, early 20's fatties were rare. Now its standard! Whats going on?!?!?

Totally agree, music is medicine.

@FishLicker Have to agree with yoru point about kids these days being so soft it's pathetic. The "I'm entitled to" generation **********. Kids at 19 and 20 were going to die on the battlefield fighting Nazism and today's youth are offended at anything from the comfort of their safe place.

This is a load of tosh. How many generations have had such a genuine cause to fight for where the country is threatened? Some people whine, some people don't. Some people feel entitled, some people don't

True that, when a 19 year old intern found out I was 35, she didn't believe me, thought I was around 28 :D

Everyone claiming to look younger than they are, unedited pics or it didn't happen ;P

You're 33?

Christ, I thought you were like some Peter Pan type character who was like 21 for ever!

I get what you mean about straight talking and not beating around the bush, that's me in a nut shell, and my current boss who is the polar opposite really doesn't get it, I blame my years in sales for it, but if you ask a question you get a straight answer, I also do what you say when he says can this be done, no it can't, but this can. Again he doesn't like it lol.
