Cheapest way to catch dog fowlers on camera

Print it, laminate it and pin it up in and around the alleyway with a big shaming caption would probably get most of them embarrassed enough to stop doing it
There was a program on BBC before Christmas, something along the lines of Named & Shamed where a shop owner posted pics like you're suggesting of suspected shoplifters and he ended up being taken to court and having to pay damages to one of those depicted for harming the alleged shoplifters good name.

Presumably though he was guessing which people were doing it but had no hard evidence to take to the police, if you've got video of said person letting their dog crap on the pavement and then walking off, you'd be in the clear I'd have thought.

Throw chilli powder everywhere.

Does this actually work? We've got a large grassed area outside our house which all the neighbours kids play on. Unfortunately there is also 2-3 inconsiderate dog owners which don't feel the need to clear up after their dogs which really winds me up to be honest.

Not wanting to harm any animals. We have a couple of local foxes which have set themselves up in the area.

Yes it does work lol. It's probably not legal though, but nor is leaving dog poop everywhere.

Might be safer using pepper dust (you can get some which is sold as animal deterrent) rather than chilli. If the dogs take a sniff of the chilli, it will be a trip to the vets and some large bills. Also you don't want the kids getting it all over them :p

Dress as a dog with hidden camera in its nose and hang around the alley waiting and filming. When perpetrator is caught send it to Esther Rantzen and let the "That's life" team sort it out.

Next door but one neighbour's cats kept ****ting on my garden and ripping the bin bags. ( few years ago when bins were inside mesh cage.

Caught the ****** and picked the turd up with a shovel, took it round to their house and knocked the door.

When she opened the door i said this is yours and tipped it onto her floor, some rowing ensured and she told me i need to put orange peels around the bin.
I said you need to frigging feed them, they always on the scrounge.

Anyway, tell your local council if you know the owners address, name. They will/should send them a letter and possible action.
If you have cctv show them it.
Or shovel it up when they gone and post it through their letterbox.

Responsible owners wouldn't let this happen.

Or use white vinger, that also works.

In the tricky period before Mum was diagnosed with dementia I noticed quite a lot of dog dirt on her regular walk when I visited. Once I started having to spend more time there to keep her safe I realised she was responsible for a lot of it. She just didn't notice or think about it any more. I was ashamed on her behalf, but she really couldn't help it any more.

That's no excuse though and I try to make up for that period now by sometimes cleaning up the mess we find from other dogs. Of course, chances are I'm just cleaning up after some lazy lowlife, or a kid who's cheesed off because they've been told to walk the dog. But given the number of elderly dog walkers round her, I'm sure there will be others whose observation skills aren't what they used to be. I try to remember that every time I'm cleaning my shoe and cursing.

Anyway, the printed photo thing is a good idea, but you have to be 100% certain you've got the right person. And although those camo cameras fool wildlife easily enough, unless very well hidden they are rather obvious and highly nickable.

Once you have your dog poo porn then what would you do with the evidence?

Local Facebook group presumably... they'd generally love stuff like this

Have seen plenty where a regular occurrence is to take pictures of badly parked cars or to complain about "the teenager on the bright green bike who was doing Wheelies down Privet drive and was very abusive to the elderly person he nearly knocked over"

it can sometimes provoke a bun fight if the parent of said teenager is on the group

pics/footage naming and shaming local dog owners who don't pick up could be quite amusing

Cats will often scavenge even if well fed, especially if there is something like a roast chicken carcass or similar in the bin. You sound like the nightmare neighbour in this scenario I'm afraid!

Clean your own bins up night after night and lets see how you handle it.
They bought the cat they should look after it.

This was many years ago and it did stop, when i bought a dog.

So let's see- my dog ***** on their property and we are back to the OP's post.
I've got kids - kids and cat **** don't mix.

Very surprised a large gentleman didn't pay you a visit, knock you around a bit then curl one off in your hall.

That's if you're not embellishing this tale a touch.

No embellishment at all.
You get to a point when enough cat carp to fill a skip is on your garden is enough.

Glad you ********** would out up with it.

Snow flakes is on the banned words. Ain't that a surprise.

We have a lot of cats around here and one weekly drops his guts on our gravel, it is annoying.

Saying that, nothing the owners can do if the cuts can roam freely.
