It's directly outside the establishment. Are bouncers there to protect their premises, or are they supposed to break up drunken brawls half way down the road?
Right exactly, it's on the road. Question still stands though, are they supposed to protect their premises or are they supposed to break up drunken brawls in public. It's directly outside the establishment.
The licensing lot take a dim view of things if people walk out of your door start brawling in the street and you do nothing about it.Right exactly, it's on the road. Question still stands though, are they supposed to protect their premises or are they supposed to break up drunken brawls in public.
I'm honestly not sure, I don't typically attend such uncivilised gatherings.
Personally I don’t think people are adequately considering how dangerous it is to throw punches like that/how dangerous knock outs are/etc. It’s scarily easy to kill someone and ruin numerous lives. One punch, head smacks on the floor... dead or life changing injury. It’s grim.

Maybe people should take some responsibility then and don’t get that drunk or start throwing digs at a bouncer to then keep squaring back up to him after he’s already made it apparent you don’t stand a chance.
In hindsight it’s easy to say he should have stopped but when adrenaline is pumping and you don’t know who’s got it out for you in the crowd it’s very difficult to just calm yourself in an instant.
I take it some people here have never had their fight or flight response triggered in a situation like this and are just thinking about it in a pure rational sense where of course any kind of violence could be dangerous/fatal.
Restraining someone in a crowd of that size if you’re on your own or outnumbered could lead to some mug stamping/kicking your head.
Saw this a day or so ago - reasonable IMO as mentioned he gives them plenty of chance to back off and gives others room to try and stop them and doesn't attack when they are down. It would be interesting though to see a longer video and/or other perspectives to have a bigger picture of what was going on.
Problem is it could quickly and unpredictably escalate to life threatening - one of the lads could have thought it a good idea to do something dumb like use a concealled knife or use their keys hidden in their hands after they got pushed back - seen that happen a few times around here (fortunately in the cases I've seen other people in the crowd noticed and managed to stop them).
