**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Does anyone know, I already pay for 100gb google cloud, but have now bought a Pixel 2. I assume any photos taken on my Pixel and upload won't come off my total storage limit but not sure.

I have been looking at third party chargers but more specifically multi port chargers that also have USB-C Power Delivery so I can have one single charger for my Pixel and my MacBook when on the go, so I need something that's at least 45W+.

I have it narrowed down to these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B074K24...liid=I2I6XX8VG4YFG5&colid=370ON5P8W056D&psc=1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01C89H...liid=I3N42OUEQ3BEKG&colid=370ON5P8W056D&psc=0

Alternatively there's this kind:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073VHV...liid=I2ZRRREVTY41TC&colid=370ON5P8W056D&psc=0

I would prefer to have the multi port option though as this allows me to charge both my 2XL (albeit slower) as well as my MacBook at the same time when it's required, not to mention other usb powered items such as bluetooth headphones etc.

At the outset I would always say Anker is the safer option but the Imuto model is £3 less AND comes with a USB-C to C cable which is in effect a further £9 or £10 saving. I am fully aware that where USB-C is concerned you shouldn't skimp on cables etc but the reviews seem very positive.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Only the Anker is in stock which may make your mind up for you!
Dammit you're right! I was certain it was in stock when I found it earlier, maybe not.

Click the link in my sig and look for Poweradd Type C Wall Charger. I think £28 on Amazon and I was quite impressed by it.
I watched your excellent review not long after you uploaded it Andy and was very tempted but I just think something with a higher wattage would be more beneficial for the MBP.

Which tempered glass screen protector is recommended for the Pixel 2 XL? The reviews on most if not all are pretty bad... I’ll be using a Spigen rugged armour case but wanted a glass screen protector too.

All screen protectors suck. Insult to the phone. Mines been naked in my pocket since day one. Screen is in good nick. You will be fine with a case

As @_Jimlad_ says all the screen protectors suck. From what read the TPU ones might be better. I have one on the normal P2. The edges are peeling off as it keeps catching the case but is doing the job for now.

I find having a dedicated pocket for your phone nice and safe. My front left pocket is solely for the phone. So in theory no scratches. I do have a rubber case for when I use the phone during exercise. Apart from that naked. I get the case thing. But bah screen protectors are just an insult to the design and feel of the touch.

Agreed, I'm still amazed so many people seem so adamant they want to use screen protectors. They ALWAYS look rubbish, and I'm not even that convinced they would save the screen in the event of a drop. At best, they might save it from light scratches but thats it.

My S7 Edge has only tiny micro-scratches after 18 months of use, which you can only see by holding the screen up to a light.

In agreement with all the above as well, a screen protector no matter how good it may be, is still going to take away from the screen of your £700-800 smartphone. I had a protector on my original XL for a few months last year and admittedly it did it's job I eventually caved and removed it and was glad I did, it was like a different phone without it.
A dedicated pocket is always the way to go, right trouser pocket for me, nothing else goes in there except the phone.

All these comments about no screen protector are making me want to grab the official canvas case and go bare on the screen. I know the P2 gets sticks for the bezels but I think it looks great in the Kinda Blue I chose. Great looking device and screen is decent even though it is 1080. Gave the speakers a go last night and was left impressed.

Given the price that the Pixel 2 has fallen to a small part of me is quite envious of it right now however I just wanted the bigger screen so went for the 2XL but at these prices the 2 is a steal. And yes the Kinda Blue looks great, I thought it looked naff at first but seeing it in the flesh in CPW totally changed my perspective.

Screen protectors are definitely useful, I've lost count of the amount of times that my wife has dropped her phone and just needed to replace the tempered glass as opposed to the screen itself getting damaged.

But then a case would also protect the screen unless your case is rubbish or you are extremely unlucky, and then you wouldn't have to offend your eyes by using the screen with degraded image quality and responsiveness.
