On my drive back home tonight while listening to the radio I discovered the existence of 'cauliflower steaks'.

Does anyone want to own up to buying one of these, and if so, what degree of doneness did you cook it?

Cauliflowers are the food of Satan and all his hellish minions. They should not be eaten but burned instead.

oven baked cauli is lovely as are oven baked sprouts. but buying then pre sliced....hmm just the same as folks buying diced onion.

Cauliflower cheese is GOAT! I always have at least 3 or 4 caulis in the house. As for the OP, I can't see the point in paying £2 for that 'steak' when a whole cauliflower can be had for way less.

I didn't recall seeing drama about turkey crowns being more expensive than a whole turkey twice the weight.

Mugs certainly pick and choose what to bang the drum about.

But with a whole turkey bones are included, which add weight. What is the actual weight of the meat?

I cooked a crown a couple of years ago, it came perfect. Better than a whole turkey

I bought a crown sometime in december and it had a surprising amount of the carcass hidden underneath. No legs or thighs or last 2 sections of the wing but a good piece of the backbone.

It was easier to fiddle with than a whole turkey but the convenience tax was substantial.

You know that all companies are trying to make you pay more than it costs them.

The trick being how much more they can get people to pay while still getting people to buy it.

Obviously this wasn't subtle enough.

If they had packaged it a bit better, they might have gotten away with it.

Failing to see the big deal. Supermarkets are full of pre packaged food stuffs to save people time and energy. If mugs want to buy it, they will. People buy ready-made mashed potatoes for crying out loud.
