Holidays 2018

April: Lads trip to Budapest. We went through 2016-17 all my friends having stag dos and weddings so decided we needed another trip away.
August: I have the first week August off so trying to find somewhere to go.
September: Week with some friends in a house in the Lake District; walks, good food, drinks and board games.

Any reason why Sept/Oct ?
1 - Japan summer is unrelenting, it is not just hot, but the humidity is insane.

It isn’t that bad, I went in August and while it was hot and humid it wasn’t uncomfortably so. I’ve been to Thailand in April/May time and I would shower and put on fresh clothes for dinner in the evening and within 5 mins my shirt would be soaking wet with sweat it was gross.

I've booked up two weeks in Chamonix in July and I somehow managed to convince the missus to let my climbing partner join us for the second week. The first week will be spent hiking with her and the dog, the second I'll be able to get out and do some climbing. I wanted to get up to Scotland in for a few days in February but I need to spend some money on the house so it's a no go, I'll just have to hope winter hits properly in Wales instead.

I like the sun yeah. Not too fussed on the booze, I don't drink all that much with my kids being young so they're usually in their beds by 10pm and I'm not keen on drinking in my hotel room.

We have a packed itinerary and I fancy doing a few things off the beaten track whilst we're there too.

I've been there 5 times as my dad used to live in Abu Dhabi so let me know if you need any pointers.

I have to accrue my vacation, but can save up to twice my annual allowance (eight weeks total). I don't have any travel plans this year (other than a few business trips to Ohio and San Francisco), but I am hoping to go to Europe for a few weeks next year. :)

March - Valencia - Long weekend to run a half marathon.

April - Majorca - Week long cycling holiday which will be fantastic training for my middle distance Triathlon in June.

In my first year with my employer I ended up carrying 5 days over into the next year, and have done so ever since... until this year - I'm blowing the lot! Every break includes a weekend to maximise the time.

Just got back from a weekend in north Norfolk
Next week - 5 days in Seville
February - 4 days in Barcelona for F1 testing
March - 3 days somewhere in the north - Top Gear style budget motorbike challenge
April - 5 days driving down to French Alps and back
June - 4 days for the French F1 grand prix
July - 10 days somewhere nice to celebrate my son finishing college. Currently looking at Mauritius
August - 9 days motorbiking up the west coast of Ireland and the NC500 in Scotland
September - 6 days motorbiking down to Austria, Switzerland, Germany and France

I never take a day off now unless I'm actually going somewhere.

Prague over Easter then 10 days in the Barcelona area in late May - seeing 2Cellos there which should be awesome!

Latvia in August with the GF to see her parents and explore a little.

Hopefully looking at California (San Fran) in September time but nothing booked as yet.

Going to try to find a cabin with a hot tub for my 1st anniversary in July. Also got some free eurostar tickets which I need to book by October (can travel anytime but booking needs to be made by then) so might take the missus to Disneyland and Paris to see the Christmas displays in late November, thats if i can afford it.

Three weeks in Japan Oct/Nov

Agree with what Ray posted earlier in the thread about avoiding September/early October.

Got to go away in the UK as well at some point and it wouldn't surprise me if i have to go to Poland at some point to.

We've decided to cancel holidays for the next 5 years and pay the mortgage off. See you in 2023 :p

Week in London "soon" before Easter I hope and somewhere in Europe for 5 days, see what takes our fancy closer to the date.

Still can't decide between Hawaii or Bali for our main holiday. Also considering Fiji or the Gold coast for a short break. 1st world problems :S

We’re trying to decide on a trip in April. Possibly a road trip in the US, or fly to Central America and go and visit Nicaragua or somewhere similar.

Other than that road trips around where we live at the moment and then 3 weeks in Australia just after Christmas.
