Epidemic of colds going around at the moment

Had razors in my throat, stuffed sinuses, headaches and general grogginess since end of December.
Getting through it by going through Halls Soothers like tic-tacs like 3 packets a day and the general ibuprofen along with small amounts of Codeine when headaches are painful enough (I need to take Codeine regularly already so I have extra)

Man flu in full swing!

Still feeling the muscle strain from coughing :( but the cold is completely gone - the flu that has been around seems to be hitting here now in full force though :( so hoping to avoid that.

I too have the dreaded lurgy, the thing that makes this different from the usual colds i've had before is the feeling of sickness with it. Never had that before.

I had it before Christmas and I've gotten it again now after 3 days back in work. FFS.

me too!
had a mild nasal one before xmas, had a few days off then came back for xmas and went to my chest for a week.
Had a cough since then and now its come back as a flu like one.
Its probably just 3 different ones in quick succession but its really annoying!

I dunno what I have got, probably anthrax.

I haven't kept food down in almost 40 hours, all my joints ache and my temperature is hovering at 38.2c

Caught mine on the 22nd December, on my last day of work. Pretty much ruined my Christmas and I'm happy to say it's on the way out only now. That was easily the most annoying, persistent cold I've had in ages.

I take the bus to work though so if yesterday evening's trip home is anything to go by I'll get back it again.

Urgh uuuuurrrrggghhhh. Somebody shoot me in the back of the head, It's time to put me out of my misery. Started feeling rough Sunday night. Two days i can I'll afford off work so far. Ive got a court hearing on friday so need to be recovered for that.

Worst part is if had an issue with my nose that the doctors keep fobbing me off about which means my sinuses and blocked up nose are now at epic levels of snottiness.

Yep, time to go the way of ol' yella.

I woke on Christmas Day feeling rough as a Badgers, nothing too out of the ordinary given Xmas Eve's happening's, spent most of the day feeling sorry for myself. Knew I had something when I woke up on Boxing Day feeling twice as bad and with no alcohol the night before. Then pretty much had the fever and the whole lot until I went back to work. Still have the cough rattling around.

My son (aged 9) has gone down with the winter lurgy going round. 4 days so far - he's getting better but tomorrow will probably be another day off school :(

He had the flu jab (he's got Asthma so gets called in for it by the GP) but clearly this strain of 'flu wasn't in the jab this year

God knows what I've contracted, had something before Xmas which cleared up, but last weekend I just woke up in a coughing splutter and been naff all week.

Similar experience Friday night but ended up with mucus coming out of my eyes and now I look like I'm out of the walking dead because my eyes have been blood shot for two days :p Not to mention I've been extremely acidity this week.

Oh well, it's not terrible, it's just when you get no sleep it's bad for me

Well, coughing fit Sunday night, slept well last night, and not feeling terrible today, so hopefully on the way out.

Eyes are still jaffed though

Daughter (2) has had something for several days, full of snot and coughing etc. Just seems to be getting better, temps back down then it comes flooding back and she's I'll again. It's bunged her up as well :(. Wife's taken her to the docs as I type.

Missus has also got it now which is worrying as she's pregnant.

Not full of snot and no real temperature other than one day - a little mucus but nothing like a normal cold - but I was like that for ~2 weeks - get a bit of rest and I seemed to be getting better - as soon as I tried to do anything though it came flooding back - was quite weird. Lounging about at home I'd start to feel a bit of a fool for taking it easy - I'd be feeling fine other than a slightly rough throat - but within a few minutes of trying to do anything and/or much talking I'd be going downhill fast - throat feeling like it was full of knives, all energy gone, sinuses starting to kick in, etc. even an hours rest and I'd be back to feeling fine aside from the slightly sore throat.

I feel rough. Booked in to see my consultant tomorrow to get a lung check over as being asthmatic and just coming out of a really bad chest infection, I really can't have a round 2.

Went to the GP and he is sure I have a chest infection causing pneumonia, so that's nice. If my temperature goes any higher, or there's no improvement in a few days of these antibiotics ill have to go to hospital.

I've had the lurgy for almost a month now. Usual symptoms and lots of dizziness. I've ended up with really dry sore eyes too for some reason. Very gunky in the morning too. I think I'm at last slowly getting better but my eyes are still so strained and hurting my face to focus on things. Even had an eye test to make sure it wasn't my vision but my sight is fine.
