*** Nintendo Switch ***

Yeah not interested in Labo myself but really like the idea and how it utilizes the Switch. It's cool how the Robot one works with its use of the IR camera.

The "Nintendo fans will buy anything" comments here are so bizzare.

Disc Jam Has Cross-Play Between Switch and PC

High Horse Entertainment announced Disc Jam will feature cross-platform play between the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC. The Switch version will also feature wireless multiplayer with up to three other Switch consoles.

The PlayStation 4 and Windows PC version will get an update alongside the release of the Switch version:

Joining the game’s roster of characters, South American volleyball player Lannie is set to make her mark on the arena as a perfect balance between power and agility.

The update will also unleash two brand new modes, providing even more ways for competitive and solo players to jam. On the competitive side of things, say hello to Ranked Leagues and Seasons. Do you have what it takes to rise through the ranks of the Universal Federation of Disc and join the Elite? Soon enough, you’ll have your chance to prove it. Then, for players who prefer to fly solo, get ready to experience all the heated action of ranked leagues without the pressures of online play in a gauntlet that will test even the most seasoned Disc Jam veterans. More details on all the goodies coming in February’s update will be landing in the coming weeks.

That Labo looks utterly bizarre, don't think i'll be buying that but as others have said I doubt i'm the target audience.

Credit to Ninty for trying something different for the younger players.

For the Nintendo open event of Labo you need to bring a child of 6-12 years old.

I think this is good as it helps clearly show who their target audience is.

I think Labo looks pretty incredible and absolute genius.

My little nephew age 4 really wants to play videogames but seems pretty scared of them so far and reluctant to try. I think something like this will really get him interested and want to play as his imagination is something else. Not just looking at a screen and pressing buttons but actually holding a motorbike handlebar or pressing keys on a piano. Proper interaction is great. Its VR on a totally different level.

Well Done Nintendo, yet again. Blowing peoples minds!

I am seriously in love with this console, its changed my whole perception of hand helds. I take it to work with me, play it on my lunch break, at home the kids love it, I take it upstairs to play Zelda in Bed on my TV.

Honestly it's probably the best console ive played, retro Zelda/Mario collections (nes/snes also pls!) and i'll be foaming at the mouth.

Need an eshop suggestion.

In a couple of weeks SWMBO's family will be staying for a few days. One night they're all going to the theatre, I am staying at home due to my Portuguese not quite being proficient enough to handle a full theatre production. Due to this. I am babysitting :p

She's 11 years old. Very very young in the mind and quite a delicate person. She does indeed love the Switch. She plays Snake Pass everytime she visits. I am wondering if there is anything in the eshop which could be good to give her some variety.

The reason I mention the delicate bit is that if say we're playing a board game and she starts to lose. She goes very quiet and claims she doesn't want to play anymore. So I am looking for something which will promote and encourage, rather than generate tough competition which she may bail out on.

Any thoughts guys?

Finally bought the switch on Friday. eBay came through and gave me a refund for 20% of the switch's value due to the issue I had trying to buy it around Christmas time for 20% off. Got Super Mario Odyssey with it and ordered the case/screen protector as well as a 128gb microSD card.

Very tempted to buy the Archives vs. Super Mario Bros!

First impressions are wow! what an amazing bit of kit! I used to think that the joycons were very expensive, but for the amount of tech/sensors/battery life/build quality they have the price is reasonable. Next step is to buy another set of those.

Odyssey is so far a very cool game, bit challenging as well with discovering everything you want, but also very relaxing in that you can do very little and still proceed to the next level. Can't wait to finish it.

Got mine yesterday. Only have mariokart right now and am a bit bored already as it doesnt appear that much different from the wiiu version that I played to death.

Looking at Mario odyssey tho and going by some vids I have watched I'll be grabbing that and golf story soon.

Grab Zelda as well, that will keep you going for awhile.

Mariokart is almost identical to the Wii U version so I'm not surprised you are a bit bored!
