Boy, 15, admits causing crash in which five people died

I'm sorry but yes it's a stupidly short time for taking 5 lives, but, the other occupants are as much to blame getting into a car driven by a 15-year-old with the mental age of 10 year old.

You put your life in the hands of an idiot you deserve what you get. Even the 12-year-old should have known that a) it was illegal and b) it was a stupid thing to do.

So you don't think people should be held responsible for the actions of those they have direct control over? Charles Manson needs a posthumous pardon then. I guess Hitler too since as far as we know he never partook in any killings himself.

Oh and those charged for being in control of a dangerous dog. Let them go too.
 
Even at the age of 10 and younger, I know right from wrong, his mental age is a factor, but doesn't pardon him from what he has done.

I believe in reasonable and fair justice, but 4.5 years isn't enough. I would had least doubled that with the second half of the sentence in some institution where he can get help and teaching. The kid is likely some snowdrop, so a proper prison would likely do more harm then good.

For killing 5 people. The boy will serve half of his sentence in detention and will then be able to be released before starting a five-year driving ban. I confess I just do not understand this at all, mind you the judge did say if he had been an adult he would have got 9 years and even that is ridiculously short for such a large loss of life. My heart goes out the families of those who died.

Not even 1 year for 1 life. It's crazy. Yes it was accidental and yes he is a minor, but we're talking five people here. Even worse when you consider some of that time is for the stolen car etc.
 
Proud of their godsons who stole a car and was joyriding. Wow.

I'm glad an innocent member of the public wasn't killed if they were out and about where they crashed.
 
It's unfortunate that people died but What good would putting him away for longer do except cost the taxpayer £££
 
I always find it funny when they ban people like this from driving, as if there's even the slightest chance they're going to abide by it.
 
I would be upset if he got 5 years for killing 5 innocent people but they weren't... Ok they didn't deserve to die, but they all decided to partake in an illegal activity and dice with death and 5/6 come out of it as losers.

He has to live with that for the rest of his life. The 5 & 5 is more of a formality in my mind...

Only silver lining in this story is no one else got hurt.
