*** Nintendo Switch ***

It's all coming together :) They just need to phase out the 3DS and concentrate all their efforts to future iterations of the Switch as their sole home and portable console.

And make the platform iterative across generations like the XBox platform. Oh, and fix the digital library so that it's tied to your account and not the console.

Then I can go all digital and keep my games across generations.

Say WHAT!?

I've been buying digitally, did not know that! So if my console dies I lose my games?

Edit: http://en-americas-support.nintendo...7/~/digital-game-purchases-on-nintendo-switch

Looks like that already happened Kreeeee

What happens if your console breaks? How are you going to deactivate it? The games are tied to the console but can be manually migrated if you have access to the old console.

You can, however, go through a huge faff to get Nintendo to migrate the licences if you're a fan of smashing your head against a brick wall.

On XBox you just log into your profile and all your games are there from the XBox, 360 and One. Maybe you want to make it your primary console so you can play the games offline too, which you can only do a set number of times a year but it's all so simple compared to Nintendo.

Edit: Also that link has many errors in it such as "Save data (for digital AND physical games) cannot be transferred between systems." I know it's possible as I've done it myself.

I've bought quite a few and on the whole I've gone for things for less than £15 where I can. A couple over that but not too many. If it all ends in disaster I won't be too gutted by it. A little but I'll get over it.

As above though this should be standard and what MS have done with their BC stuff has, to be fair, been fantastic.

Yup, all in one Nintendo console. They would sell themselves!

Still pretty ridiculous that Nintendo can't sort out their online until 18 months after they released it. Lets be honest, its not going to be mind blowing either is it.

Still no work on cloud saves either.

Online service launching in September

I still don't feel they should be charging for online, but for €20/year it'll probably be worth it just for the 'classic game collection'.

Few more details here:

Nintendo confirmed that this monthly plan has indeed changed, telling Kotaku: “Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will have ongoing access to a library of classic games with added online play. Users can play as many of the games as they want, as often as they like, as long as they have an active subscription.”

Nintendo adds: “Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will be able to play a wide variety of classic games, including Super Mario Bros. 3, Balloon Fight and Dr. Mario. More games will be announced at a later date. At launch the classic game library will include NES games. Super NES games continue to be under consideration, but we have nothing further to announce at this time.”

It remains to be seen whether this classic service will replace Nintendo’s traditional Virtual Console, which allowed fans to buy old games on 3DS, Wii, and Wii U. When asked about the Virtual Console’s future, Nintendo offered: “We have nothing to announce on this topic.”

Lol. People cry out for th announcement, they finally get it. Then complain how long it took and already saying it will suck before knowing anything other than a release month :p

Some people eh.

There is no way cloud saves won't come. Reggie already recognised it in an interview and said something like "we hear you and working on it" a while ago. I also find it funny that people think the online service should be free. Last time I checked whether something is any good or not servers don't pay for themselves.

And to be fair, of the hundreds of hours (around 400 hours) I've played online in the past 11 months I've rarely had any connectivity issues. It's been really solid. And free!

I've been playing online for free since launch without any issues. I'd prefer it if they never charged for online and left it the way it currently is.

Their online is **** compared to MS and PS but the biggest issue is still cloud saves. I simply will not send my console in to be repaired until they can guarantee that I won't lose hundreds of hours of gameplay. Its a shambles that there is no way to backup your games without getting a second console at the moment.

I love your extreme overreaction. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you're acting like Nintendo have just pooped through your letterbox :p
