Gender equality debate

What happens if we all had a mens issues debate? You know the answer to that already i'm sure. It's happened in the past in murica. It was descended upon by loads of angry feminists calling them all pigs and misogynists etc.
I don't really care what happens if we have mens issue debate. in the same way that I, you, the OP and anyone else not involved in the womens event shouldn't really care what happens at it. too many people like yourself, and I don't mean that to be offensive, being concerned about something that doesn't actually concern them.

So gender equality doesn’t concern men ?

the event doesn't concern you so why be concerned about it. I didn't mention gender equality not concerning men.

if one particular group of anything (men, women, donkeys or hairy faced rabbits) want to have a little get together and bemoan, bitch, cry or pat each others back let them have at it. why does their little get together have to bother anyone outside of their own little group?

Some men's issues for those who haven't heard this stuff before:
  • Circumcision (it's basically FGM for men)
  • Bias in family court (she takes your kids and your stuff)
  • Bias in prison sentences (men serve more time for the same crime)
  • Domestic violence (women get away with hitting men, men don't speak up)
  • Suicide (much higher suicide rate among men)
  • Military conscription (when it comes down to it, men do the jobs that result in death)
There are plenty more...

pleaae refer to the link above to see what happens when an event is organised to discuss the issues mentioned above. I imagine that event was open to all genders too.

It will be nothing more than a selected group of women, telling ordinary women that they are "opressed" by the straight white man and need to fight back.....make sure they cut that divide a little deeper.

blank quote won't quote
what?! where have I said men don't have issues worth discussing, having an event for??

what I am saying, repeatedly, is why be concerned over an event that doesn't concern you. why are you concerned about an event that is for women to discuss something they feel concerns them.

damn, have I used the word 'concerned' enough :p?!

I'm offended, I will be contacting moderation shortly regarding this matter.

and that has what to do with the OP? does this event mean that men don't have or aren't allowed issues? apologies if I've missed something but I don't see the relationship between your highlighting of mens issues and the OP.

Because someone has to represent men's issues. The BBC isn't going to do it.

Feminism isn't "women's issues". It's "women taking power from men".

BBC is feminist. About half their "news" isn't news, it's feminism.

Indeed, another couple to throw in the ring:-

Education - educational techniques are now largely preferrentially geared towards girls over boys

Health Spending:- Health spending and particularly research into cancer are massively biased towards women’s issues.

The worst thing about? The reason for many of the above is that men just grin and bare it (suicide and mental health issues particular) and now that gender equality is politicised the swing will likely be even more towards women because we will lose the debate simply by not having it in the first place.
