Suspension clonking does this fitted right?

That doesn't look right to me. I think it is part of the anti-roll bar and it should be tight rather than having the thread visible.

Replaced mine the other day and no it should be straight and tightened all the way so no threads showing. That is slanted and a very poor job.

Hope you get it sorted out. Give them a call, see what they say and then go from there. They may have just overlooked it. Quite easy to do, sometimes.

That doesn't look right at all and the more you drive the worse the threads are going to be on the part they replaced, could be trashed in no time.

Look on the other side of the car for it's opposite twin, see if they replaced that too and if not see how that's tightened up.

Whoever fitted that has no business working on a car. That is nowhere near fitted correctly and yet they gave it a pass with it fitted like that? I guess they failed it originally because the rubber was split? That is worse than a split rubber because with it being that loose it would have eventually elongated the hole in the anti roll bar as well as worn the thread away on the link itself. That should be tightened up fully with no movement at all. Seeing how slack that is in the anti roll bar is that even the correct part? Every link I have ever fitted has been a tight/interference fit with no slack at all. Most have a taper to achieve that fit where the shiny nut is on yours although a quick look on Google images shows the Almera just to have the threaded section. Even so, that is a very loose fit. There appears that there is no washer for that part and it should be the new nut on the inside with the anti roll bar sandwiched between that and a NEW Nyloc lock nut on the outside.

This has KwikFit written all over it.

Close ... it was Halfords.

Don't judge. My mot had expired (new car, didn't know mot date) and it was the only place that could get me in on a Sunday afternoon with zero notice. .

The One on the other side hasn't been changed probably as it's solid rusted lol.

They don't usually have washers but new ones these days have a nyloc nut. Looks like they re-used the old nut and it doesn't fit the thread of the new one. Morons.

Complaint to head office as the stores deal with fitting complaints badly. As for Test fee and retest fee back. along with part costs and fitting. The incorrect fitting of the part could have compromised the integrity of it

Worth looking under the other side and checking if the ball joint is the same size and style as the one they fitted, the new one looks like it has a lot of thread showing under the wishbone, might be the right one, but I wouldnt put it past them to fit something random that just happens to fit.

Better than that!

They've tightened up the new nut to the joint itself then put it into the ARB and banged the old nut on the end.

The old nut should be in the bin and the new nut should be the other side of the ARB from where it is (ie, in place of the old nut) and the joint of the link should be right up against the ARB.

That is some shockingly awful work there.

That new nut is supposed to be where it is as I looked up the Almera's setup yesterday. It's not like a normal setup.
