When you put down temporary lights, can you please put a bit of effort in to the actual timings so we don't have to wait half an hour to go and then have 30 milliseconds to pass through?

Thanks,
Every motorist ever.

Sadly I'm no where near you but yea we've been adjusting the timings to allow plenty of time for cars to get through

Could you also you know...coordinate? Don't have a series of lights end up causing a trap which prevents flow!

If it annoys you all even more.

I work for TFL/Siemens designing and installing traffic signal junctions

Always fancied changing over to t/m but seems relatively low paid unfortunatly

;)

Stop putting traffic lights on roundabouts.

Thanks.

This is one of the daftest things ever.
Here in Stoke we had many traffic light junctions turned into roundabouts and now most of them have got traffic lights on :)

I do understand why though because when I used to drive home from work, I'd be in a long queue just trying to get on a roundabout because priority came from the right side.
It's like they never think of this stuff before they do something.

Or at least have the common sense to switch them off at night.

Whenever I'm on early starts, I will run the reds and treat the roundabout as an actual roundabout, regardless of the others who are happy just to sit there! Sitting at a red light on my own waiting for it to change makes no sense to me what so ever.

Well that's illegal...

It's like on those pelican crossings where people press the lights, cross whilst there is a gap in traffic, lights turn red, and nobody is then waiting to cross.

You still have to sit there. It's the law.

"Traffic Management" :D

I had visions of some master Architect/planning Engineer pouring over simulations of different road systems, analysing flow in different scenarios.

I'm fully aware of this...

However at 5 in the morning when I can see that there isn't another car on the roundabout, or any traffic to my right I'll treat the roundabout as a roundabout. I'm not saying I do this during the day and wouldn't jump a red light on a pelican crossing people waiting or not.
