Hi guys a while ago I threw together a pc for my sister in law around an Asus p5k ap wifi 8gb ddr2 with a q6600. The rest is current stuff. She has a ssd and a gtx 1050ti.

Can anyone spec me a mobo cpu ram bundle that would be a decent uograde for her for around £100. She plays old games like tf2 and does some 3d animation.

3d animation on that rig- wow. when i was using q6600 back in 2007 i think was a bit of a struggle haha

if you were able to dig a little deeper

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £256.43 (includes shipping: £10.50)

should make gaming and 3d work a lot better/easier

No thats too much unfortunately. You would be surprised what the q6600 can do still haha. Besides she has never had a pc before this one so to her its normal.

Budget may stretch to £140 after I sell her current mobo cpu and ram. Any more ideas? I'm thinking ddr3.

Budget of £140 for new parts is a tad unrealistic. 8gb ram itself eats up half the budget already.

Better off going pre-owned

Ok thanks. Ive been looking around. I think I can get her an i5 2500k or 3570k and a motherboard with 16gb of ddr3 1600mhz for about £150. Would that be a big enough jump in performance for her for the price? She uses a program called sfm think its source film maker.
