I was thinking it was some LGBTWTHREISONLYTWOGENDERS tshirt with the 9 and 6 being women doing lesbian things or something.

This will almost certainly be related to something like Tupac and has been signed off by non football people.

I'm aware of Hillsborough but wouldn't immediately connect it to the number 96 at first glance without any other prompt. It happened in 1989, half the people producing clothes for Top Man probably weren't even born when it happened.

It's the Liverpool accident with the overpopulated stand that collapsed. I don't see any connection with the shirt though.

I know next to nothing about football.
