Has anyone heard about a mayhems coolant warning? It says:
Notice:

Attention: The manufacturer Mayhems advises that Mayhems fluids, especially the Aurora line of products, have been manufactured and distributed solely for show and modding purposes. These should not be utilized in the system for more than 14 days.

We would also like to advise that Mayhems fluids can damage water cooling products, and using Mayhems fluids can thereby void the warranties offered by the following manufacturers: Koolance, Phobya, Alphacool, Aqua Computer, Watercool.

Damages such as: clogging, corrosion of aluminium radiators, deterioration of glued containers, etc., are a consequence of the use of Mayhems, but will not be reimbursed by Mayhems. Use is therefore at one’s own risk.

They are a competitor so dont believe I can quote where it is from?!?!?

Seems to be a rumour started by some webshops owned by the same company. The response from Mayhem on one of the forums.

Ill contact them over this as this is a misleading allegation. We feel our coolants are one of the best in the market place and do not compromise tubing, rubber, plastic or any seals with any liquid cooling components. We have fully tested this in lab environments and real life situations past and beyond any testing they may do (this is my assumption! not fact). We test from -60c up to 100c+ (*Mayhems Xt-1 Nuke is tested beyond 350c+) unlike many other companies. We all so check for plastic degradation and component failure and have done for many years. Unlike any other company in this market place mayhems do not use pre-bought car coolants or base coolants, they are all made in house from the ground up giving us full control over the manufacturing of the fluids.

Our testing has proven time and time again when certain companies OEM controls may be substandard and we have picked up issues in the past and contacted companies directly over any issues found due to our extensive and some times over the top testing. We do this because we care. If an AT rep is saying this then why are they selling our products on there site which they buy directly from us. !

*XT-1 Nuke was independently tested for its limits in a pressure environment to 390c, This is way beyond any liquid cooling equipment currently on the market for consumer PC's.

I thought it seemed odd as they are always highly recommended. Just concerning when you read it

The Aurora range has always been a show product this hasnt changed, yes its got better over the years but its always been a beautiful but finicky product outside ideal circumstances.

The normal ranges however are fine ive used pastel and x1 without any problems as have hundreds if not thousands of people. Not sure about the damage warnings but clogging is generally caused by incorrect cleaning of systems before use and as for corrosion of ally rads, frankly I'd avoid ally rads like the plague, ally and copper mixing is notoriously difficult to prevent corrosion and blaming the liquid is just a poor excuse from manufactures who produce inferior products

Has anyone heard about a mayhems coolant warning? It says:

The quote appears on multiple sites, it was originally in German IIRC so some context has been lost in translation. The whole quote is referring to Mayhems Aurora and is completely correct, but if misunderstood can give the impression that part of it is referring to all Mayhems fluids, it's not, just Aurora.

All those multiple sites are shopfronts for the same two websites belonging to one company.

The Aurora range has always been "For track use only". I've had no problems with their normal stuff, and it's been in one of my rigs for about 5 years now!

Aurora since it was first annouced has always had weekend show build upto 48hour warnings, people have ran it for longer and back on v1 it would leave deposits in your loop requiring a strip down.

Any of the normal 'colours' can be ran 24/7 and aslong as the PH in your loop is within spec you'll not have problems.

Mayhems and alphacool doing a joint test- mentioned in US forums a while back .

Mahems Pastel cant be used on alphacools new D5 pump VPP755 - both confirmed this to be true - on all other alphacool parts its fine to be honest

New member signs up just to bring attention to a article on Mayhems website about information that most of us already know that Aurora is for show systems and not for 24/7 use. Why would a new user open a thread that had it's last post almost a year ago and post about something we already know and Mayhems makes no secret about unless it was a attempt to attack Mayhems or try flining mud on their credibility? What is the purpose of your post? Aurora was developed specifically to give specially built, high end custom watercooled rigs some added "bling" for shows and photography. There is nothing secretive or dubious going on and certainly no "LOL" factor about it. Mayhems has always stated that Aurora was for show use. If people want to use it as a everyday coolant then that is up to them and any problems they should have is down to using the product for something it's not designed for. Perhaps lordraptor1 should go and troll somewhere else.
