So far my thoughts

Would be find for a £500 phone but not a £800 flagship phone IMO.
The screen isn't as high ppi as my note 4 I think but seems just as good.

Also the phone is £510 payG from EE now, or probably less for those that preordered and will sell headphones. I tend to agree it doesn't feel like £800 worth of phone altho Ive never paid more than £250 previously so don't have much for comparison!

I don't get it, did you not know this before buying the phone?

Oh I did. Was why I almost didn’t. Still doesn’t change the fact that in some ways it’s not as goods as mobiles from two years ago and in other ways it’s a step forward.

Didn’t know about it not supporting rSAP though. All my phones for the last 4 years have and just assumed all mobiles would have it nowadays so never checked.

As far as the screen goes, it is superb. However put side by side with the s7 you can see the S7 is more detailed and sharper. Will never bother you though unless you do put them side by side.

Will any USB C to 3.5mm adaptors work with this?? (please recommend me some cheap ones )
Im gonna buy a couple for the office.

Call quality on this plus WiFi calling was superb in my house! Very impressed compared to poor signal of old.

What's the upshot of the rSAP thing? I've ordered a P20 Pro and it's an absolute must that it's compatible with the Bluetooth setup in my car.

So tomorrow is the big battery test....

Over 3 hours of train travel with poor signal and heavy use including Spotify etc.....combined with lots of camera shots etc it's a demanding day. The pixel 2xl just about survived but the s9+ always ran out of juice before I got home....

Fingers crossed :)
So it's still going.... Definitely a huge improvement for me in the battery league :)

It comes with one in the box.

First full day. 5 hours SOT under very demanding conditions including low signal high brightness and lots of streaming over 4G. Very happy with that :)

Phone is good, camera is amazing.

However I cant help feeling disappointed coming from the Samsung S7 Edge, a phone two generations ago.

The screen isn't as high ppi, it doesnt have wireless charging and it appears to not work with my car stereo (well not so far)

So really for a phone which on paper costs way more than my Samsung S7 Edge, the only thing which seems to have improved is the camera. Everything else seems to be a step back.

Speaking of £500.

You can get P20 Pro from EE for £509 on payg in-store

Photos from todays car meet, overcast and not great conditions. 10MP point and click mode.

Cant say im unhappy at all.
