I'm going to wait until my Fury Nitro is so old that it either dies or a bottom of the range card from a new range is twice as fast

Or prices come down to a respectable level

I went for the Gigabyte 1070ti in the end. I couldn't wait any longer. Looking forward to my first build :cool:

I've been reading the thread so I wont take seriously but in answer to your question I would rather put my money into a Nintendo Switch, my Fury cost me £300 two years ago, I cant get anything for that in terms of GPUs but I can get a Nintendo switch and a couple of games

I've just gone for a 1080 @ £500. It was a case of needs must because my old GPU died, and I couldn't wait months for the 11 series. I want to game now!

you think its better value to put £300 into hardware that has a few good games for it? so like £100 per game.

Yes, games that cant be bought for PC and can be played anywhere and show me a GPU for £300 thats worth swapping a Fury Nitro for?

To each their own.... the switch does not interest me at all, personally i would much rather buy one of those chinese gaming tablets with controls built and and use as an emulation device for hand held gaming (they can run up to and including dreamcast level stuff) and for under the tv stuff the switch is under specced for what i want....... but that is just me.

For those not interested in emulation and who are interested in high end gaming on the go, as well as the almost universally high quality 1st party titles, i can definitely see why the switch is selling like hot cakes.

I'm not sure what to do, I've got q laptop, a GTX1080 and no motherboard, ram, CPU, currently got the PC up for sale and the GPU but not sure if I should keep 1080 and just stick it on mantle piece

1080 prices seem to going down - so if your gonna sell now would be the time IMO

Or put the GPU in one of those external PCIE enclosures and game on your laptop using it - assuming it's a good one...

you can buy 1070 minis for £300 if you look in the right place.

Looking at the switch library I consider it lacking. All current gen consoles are poor in this regard, because many PS4 exclusives are also on PC, xbox1 not many exclusives mostly microsoft games which are also on win10. Nintendo exclusives dont reach PC, the problem is there is not very many of them, the best switch game is also on the wii-u a much cheaper console.

i disagree on your ps4 exclusives... hardly any ps4 exclusives are on the PC (I wish they were). Are ANY naughtydog titles on pc? even titles which were once on home computer seem now to be exclusive to ps4 (wipeout / shadow of the beast for instance)

Maybe I got lucky, but 80% of the PS4 exclusives I own (not on xbox1) I also have on steam.

Some are timed exclusives so the PC release is delayed.

Care to name some? I can't think of one PS4 exclusive that has come to the PC. Most that are on the PC were never going to be PS4 exclusives, more like timed console exclusives. This is the exact reason I own a PS4 Pro, ie Last of Us, God of War, SoC, Uncharted series, Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn - the list goes on.
