Hi all.

I searched for PM961, but i got surprisingly low amount of results.

i may buy a m.2 pcie drive, is the 960 evo or 970 evo a better buy that the PM961? The PM is a little cheaper.

Thanks

Speed, from slowest to fastest goes like this:
Pm961 > 960 Evo > sm961 > 960 pro
970 series just released so don't know how those compare

I'd wait for the 970 personally and splash out for the pro version if you don't mind the extra £. Will probably pick one myself even though I don't really need it but could do with a larger capacity ssd drive(1TB+).
Was a it disappointed with a 960 Pro due to a firmware issue that took them a while to fix although in hindsight I'm now not sure it affected mine anyway, I was seeing slow performance due to using wrong power plan(performance slower SSD than AMD or Windows balanced). Hopefully the bad firmware was just a one off - will try another Sammy drive.

not quite, depending on what metric you are comparing :)
definitely though, there's not much between the sm961 and 960 pro. i'd opt for the sm961 as it's considerably cheaper in most (if not all) cases. granted it has shorter warranty...

Yes the devil is definitely in the detail. I read that very few workloads go over QD4 let alone get to QD32 and I see Samsung are now quoting QD1 speeds which seem more relevant to the average user.

The WD Black NVME drives also look pretty good. I'd just like to see prices for a 1TB drop below £200.
