Intel Optane Memory supports secondary data storage

That's the original use of optane no? (That was available to purchase, not that was proposed...) Where it was being compared to old HDDs hence got dismissed as pointless being an expensive way of getting a sshd.

The newer full drives seem more interesting to me, though they shine most in some humerously unlikely workloads that appear in benchmark suites more because most ssds struggle in the situation than because it is realistic. Still, decent drives in other scenarios if not (yet?) seeming worth the price premium.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £143.68 (includes shipping: £8.70)

These units could only be used on HDD that had the OS drive installed on but no others , forcing a buyers hand . Now it can be selected to be used with any HDD

guessing its to combat AMD StoreMI, which when used to 2gb of RAM... damn! whilst being more flexible then Intel platforms
