I heard this cat fighting noise outside this evening and thought it might be our cat, a neutered female.

I had to walk some distance before I found her lying on the floor. I thought she was dead or mortally injured , but when I picked her up she was ok.

I carried her home to check her in the light. Couldn't see any injury but she smells badly, almost like and old dog smell. Where her bum is looked wet on the fur. Some of her hair has been pulled out too.

Could that smell be spray from a tomcat? It stinks, should I try to clean it off somehow?

Your cat got bummed. Will need therapy.

(Ok, ok, I'm not that heartless, a hurt kittt sucks, glad she's ok. Can't offer any advice, hopefully others can).

About a month ago a cat battered it's way through our locked cat flap and attacked her too. I came down in the night and there were tufts of fur on the kitchen floor. The cat flap door lock was broken.

I need to check her for wounds but I'm going to wait until the morning as I don't want to be scratched.

Has she not been neutered or something?

On the plus side, maybe you get some kittens. My Aunty has some pure siamese cat, was going to breed it, it got out one day.. literally only missing for one day, and had had a good seeing to by some Tomcat....

produced some jet black kittens that you could tell were siamese and had the similar texture etc.. they were awesome cats when they grew up... if I were to even own a cat I'd want a half siamese/half ordinary black moggy thing...

(Can't believe no one has said this yet. GD, I am disappoint!)

Hope your cat's feline fine again soon. ;)

That smell is likely from your own cat spraying to try and mark its territory.

Happens to ours when she gets a fright. Usually ends up with a wet backside at the same time.

I'm sure she'll be alright.

Came home one day to find one of ours lying on the bed covered in blood, don't know if she was attacked or caught herself on something but she had a big deep cut running down the side of her. Went straight to the vet who patched her up and kept her in for observation but when she came home she was still the same friendly cat as before.

Our cat had a fight once and had some puncture marks. Just cleaned it up with some peroxide and he was good as new after a week. He is quite alpha though so that was a rare occasion. He will not mess with me but will quite happily kill 10-20 birds and mice in a summer!
