Hi all,

Looking to purchase a new gaming pc, main reasons for using this would be to play Elder scrolls online in ultra graphics.

Is it possible with my budget or would i need to spend a bit more, would prefer to buy from overclockers.

thanks,

DIY or prebuilt?
need a windows key as well?
what about peripherals?
would you consider overclocking (honestly) or just plug and play?

thank you

thanks for help/.

ryzen pre-build

tam intel will provide higher fps at 1080 and 1440p gaming , though upgrading in future is a grey area

both actually price quite nicely, specially the 8700 non k- damn good chip by intel personally , specially since its crept down in price to what it should have been

anyone would be happy to have either :D power of competition- you would have been able to have a vega GPU if it wasnt for miners to sync with the screens better :(

just seen your 2nd part of the post - so looknig at this the intel spec would probably be the way to go ?

for power and driving that 1080p screen with a damn good GPU that should hit 100-120hz at high graphical levels nicely then would have to hand on heart say 8700 . set MCE to on and will force all cores to run 4.3ghz which will easily out muscle ryzen 1600/2600 and 2700x when gaming due to intels stronger IPC/IMC

in theory, 6 core intel should offer good performance for a long time to, even with 8 core rolling in ( wont be for a while yet so no point waiting for it - all i'll say on that, as well as hopefully it not melting ice caps)

Hi,

Are you going to play a single game and nothing else? Paying 1600 for just Elder scrolls online?

Man, if you are going to specc something intel, please give the guy more room for movement, don't give him quad cores, locked chips and chips that are "soldered" for that motherboard.

I would hope for the sake of a £1600 budget OP would play more than just Elder Scrolls online or buy a PC that has been built solely for playing ESO on high settings as it might be a bit cheaper.

no contest mate. 8700 vs 2600. 8700 all day long.
just because it isn't upgradeable doesn't mean that it's automatically bad as soon as next gen comes about.
yes we like to harp on about upgradeability and future compatibility, but honestly i doubt that OP would have an issue with 8700 performance 5 years from now
(no sleight to OP ofc, not everyone needs to be at the cutting edge of PC tech)
